I was playing this on Steam Deck and there is no way to disable Steam Input for the Deck unless I use a controller. And the default controls are not ideal for me. Melee Alternate is better IMO.
Well, I was able to eventually program a configuration that works, so all is good now - honestly the biggest issue is they don't have a control bound to interact, and the ui doesn't reflect changes to X or O
Any chance you published that config so I can download it? It's driving me crazy that I can't just use the desktop UI to switch the default. Obviously an oversight.
Hey - so I have a template published, however it's only for the ps4 controller. I think I'll plug in my xbox controller and make a template there too if there isn't already one.
Make sure to use v9, I optimized the inputs, so that you don't accidentally change stance after releasing triangle
Any chance you can replicate that on steam deck? 😁
Edit: I tried to just replicate what you've done on the steam controller (steam deck), noticed that within the add action layer menu, the dropdown box is empty. This is different from your settings where you specified it as doing a specific thing (eg change stance). Seems like it's a bug in steam itself as google has complaints of this issue for other games.
Sigh, it would appear the steam controller is not configurable into this scheme. Excellent port, they say. 🥲
Edit2: played around with the configuration more. Turns out I was wrong with it being a bug, I just didn't understand how deep the rabbit hole went. Got it working! Thank you OP for figuring it all out.
Glad to know you got it working
The real question is if the inputs are working with Legends - even in the base game the alternate controls were a little clunky, I hope it's all working well there.
V11 is live - I fixed the flute gyro which never actually worked but I could never test it, now with this build you can use it by holding the share button (and then the gyro will act as a mouse)
