A problem has occurred with your display driver . This can be caused by out of date drivers , using game settings higher than your gpy can handle , an overheating gpu , or an error with the game . please try updating your graphic drivers , or lowering your in-game settings . Current GPU and grafics driver: NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1070, 555.99
(0x887A0006:DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG)
I have seen issues reported on other games with that driver so you might want to DDU and roll back
Here's what I found
I recently noticed this with my CPU as well.
High temp jumps, consistently running between 80-90°C, even going up to a 100 for a moment when launching the game.
I have a pretty solid CPU Cooler, and although it's not AIO, I've really never gone above 85°C doing CPU Intensive work, such as video editing/rendering.
I notice that, when playing Ghost of Tsushima, CPU usage is pretty low, but the temperatures for CPU are oddly very high.
I adjusted a few things, namely adding an FPS Cap through Nvidia Control Panel:
1. Right-click on Desktop -> Nvidia Control Panel
2. Manage 3D Settings
3. Switch to "Program Settings"
4. "Add" and then find your GhostOfTsushima.exe
5. When it's added, find the setting for "Max Frame Rate" and set it to an enjoyable level, without going overboard on what your GPU/CPU can handle.
6. Click "Apply"
^ I was using both DLSS Quality for my upscale method, and DLSS Frame Generation, and basically, both of those settings are heavier on your CPU. Instead of relying solely on your GPU to render graphics, the game turns towards your CPU to help with the process, and that can heat up fast depending what you ask from it.
I noticed that I went from a consistent 80-90°C to a range of 70-80°C just by setting my frame cap to something not outrageous, but still decently high.
IF you want to further reduce temperatures, or setting frame cap did not work for you, then I should add that turning off Upscale Method and Frame Generation, with the adjustments to frame cap, set my CPU Temps to a 68-74°C range. (I was on DLSS for both)
So disabling Upscale and Frame Gen should also have an impact on your CPU Temps.
This is just my experience, though. Hopefully it helps your situation or at least gives some insight into it :)
