If you have a FPS issue (POSSIBLE FIX)
Im running a 3080 along with a i9-12900k, went from a solid 90-100fps down to 30.

it seems to me that the actual graphic settings are not being set when going through them, i was hitting 30 fps in golden forest area, and the way i got around it was cycling the preset settings and then changing the actual graphic options down below, from their preset value down to low then back up to the highest setting.

I noticed that level of detail was the main culprit behind my FPS drop, when dropping that setting down to low, and right back up to high. I was able to get my fps back up to 90.

Also messing with amd frame generation causes stutters for me, so its best to stay away from that. I hope this helps, but to me it seems like the game is not actually setting the options unless you go to a preset and then adjusting the settings below.

(i also do think it might be a level streaming issue where its still loaded the previous areas that you were in and that the LOD settings is just resetting those levels to unload).

TLDR: Possible LOD/Level streaming bug keeping previous visted areas loaded, cycle through preset settings and set the graphic settings down to low then back up to high. Stay away from frame generation, it causes stutters.

I can confirm AMD Frame generation causes all sorts of odd problems when mixed with the DLSS functionality. I ultimately ended up not using the frame generation option it becomes unpredictable.
I also found that like many nixxes titles, if you change the display / graphics settings too much in game, the framerate will gradually drop into the 30s even if you normally are at 120. Maybe a memory leak or something. Restarting the game fixes that, so maybe do your setup first, restart and then play.
Also noticing steam overlay screenshots can cause the framerate to suddenly drop and stay low, so maybe avoid that too

resetting the game doesn't fix it for me. cycling the the settings from low to high did nothing. i'm stuck at 20 fps and below even after resetting the game.

I found that deleting the PsPPcSdkRuntimeInstaller and Manager fixed my issues completely. This will completely delete the playstation overlay. DO NOT do this if you want to play in Legends mode, it will no longer be accessible. But if you are like me and only interested in the main game then I think it'll work for most of you. I have an i9 with a RTX 3070

This works for me too, also on a 3080. FPS ends up dropping to 30-40 within a few minutes of starting the game, then if I drop to Low settings and back up to maximum (including manually setting some settings higher than the highest preset), it shoots back up to 60-70 FPS for the rest of the session (even if it lasts 12 hours). I have to assume it's clearing out junk filling up video memory.

What helped me was turning on HAGS. I have it disabled for the most but for this game it is really helpful. I run DLAA and have fps between 90-114.
