If I launch the game, the Dualsense controller hijacks all audio output, even though my primary audio setting is my Steelseries headset.
No matter what I try, all audio keeps coming through the damn controller, unless I disable it in windows and re-enable it again after launching the game.
But then I noticed that my usual audio source was still not being used, since I could not see the L/R bars on my Steelseries audio display move at all.
They really need to take a second look at the PS5 Dualsense controller support, because for all the 'hype' they are giving it on the steam store, it sure as ♥♥♥♥ doesn't work like it should.
if i give any input to the DS, the audio cuts by a few db. i've been fiddling with it all morning to see if i can fix it.
if you enable steam input, and lose some of the features of the DS, the problem goes away.
my latest attempt at a fix is to switch my audio out to my dac from usb to optical. haven't tested it yet but i will here in a bit.
it's a bug, i'm sure they'll address it in a patch or two. so far i've just been playing without the DS features and steam input on.
The problem here is when I play on cable with dualsense to have haptic feedback. The sound becomes quieter. If I use the keyboard and mouse the sound becomes loud again, but as soon as I use the analog stick the sound becomes low.
Apparently it doesn't happen if I use Bluetooth, but then I lose the haptic feedback.
* Yes, the PC sound is in the headphones and not in the dualsense output.
Edit: disabling the speaker drivers seem to also disable the enhanced haptic feedback features of Dualsense controllers...
