I have a GTX 1660 OC.
It sits around 30fps with Dynamic Resolution Scaling off, with it on it stayed at 60 easily so I left it on.
Like you OP it was great for hours then started lookin funny. I open up nvidia overlay again and sure enough it's at like 29, and even dipped as low as 21.
Since Nvidia is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with their software and doesn't give you VRAM usage, I opened up HWMonitor to check if I was maxing VRAM, because that's an easy fix, but I was only using about 86%.
I closed the game at this point last night and said I'd deal with it today. I have not dealt with it yet.
I ruled out video memory leak, but not system memory. It sounds like a memory leak (which we can't fix but we could at least report our findings so it gets fixed faster)
Games have bugs, it's actually a really impressive port.
Hardware:
RTX 3070 Ti 8GB.
i7-12700K (stock speeds).
32GB DDR5 Memory.
Lastest drivers installed.
At 1080p, high settings, 60 refresh rate. After a few hours my frame rate is all over the place, dipping into the 20's or so and staying there, till I restart the game. Not sure what is going on here with this game. Could be a memory leak but I'm not really sure about that.
I had a similar thing, definitely wasn't vram for me on a 308010GB as it was sitting at 7gb used. Framerate was fine 120 then just tanked to like 30. I set the settings to low, then back to ultra again and it fixed itself without me having to restart it. Seemed to happen when I fast travelled as well.
Oh system memory is 32GB and the game was using about 14GB of ram
If you could narrow it down to a specific setting, you'll probably be showered in Steam points out of sheer gratitude for helping so many workaround it until it is fixed; just sayin
Couldn't narrow it down to one particular setting from my testing, it's strange. It happened once and I lowered volumetric fog and shadows a bit and that fixed it. Another time it didn't work entirely but yeah, really frustrating issue to deal with. I'll run some tests after work to see if I can narrow it down.
playing at constant 60 fps 1080p with a rx 580 8gb using fsr 3 and medium preset
I know it's not the upscalers because I disabled that. I also killed Motion Blur and DoF so it's not those either.
What Anti Aliasing is those presets defaulting too?
I run DLSS so with that on it doesn't use AA, its definitely not framegen, it had to be a setting in the graphics menu rather than the display menu for sure as that was the only thing I changed today.
Restarted the game many times didnt help.. so what i did was to alt tab in and out rapidly like 20 times... now it runs 70-120 and super smooth again.. even revisited places where it started or where it droped down to 20-40.. and it still hangs round on 100-110.. super weird that a restart didnt work, but alt tab in and out a couple of times did. "everything still Ultra settings with DLSS" 1440p.
We'll have to test it and see if we can repeat it (if so it's SUPER weird)
Was it just a game restart or did you restart the whole machine?
(I ask because in the case of only game, it might not have closed. Mine isn't always closing when I exit)
