Initially they said to change the processor settings in the bios, but it doesn't seem professional at all...and I don't know if this is actually the problem.
It either crashes on startup with "Access Violation" in the logs, or it goes past the intro screens and ends up on an infinite black loading screen.
How do I do this? I'm looking at launcher settings right now and under options there is: language, start on bootup, minimize to tray, show public test environment, and maximum download (unlimited). Under About, it has: launcher version (1.3.6.2842585), minimum specs, and game consultant. The last option under settings>launcher is "launcher beta" saying I'm eligible to upgrade to it.
I'm having same issue with black screen with i9-9900k OC-ed to 3.6GHz. It's weird because it doesn't happen all the time, maybe every 7th or 8th time I try to start the game.
-launcher
to the game's startup in it's steam properties. You can turn off FSR there. For whatever reason, it can't get to the main menu with it turned on, but while IN game, it runs fine with it on.
It's a pain, but that works if you need to use FSR
Apparently, there's a solution involving Windows Defender from another post:
"open windows defender --> click 'virus and threat protection' --> under virus and threat protection settings, click 'Manage Settings' --> scroll down to Controlled Folder Access --> click 'Manage Controlled Folder Access' --> click 'Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access' --> click 'Add An Allowed App' --> you can ether click 'Browse all Apps', or 'Recently Blocked Apps' ('recently blocked' is easier) --> select 'Ghost of Tsushima' and confirm it."
I use BitDefender and tried making it an exception, but that didn't work for me. On the other hand, it's fairly concerning that this game, unlike any other Steam game I've ever played in my life, flags my antivirus.
