Memory leak?
After 2-3 hours i go from 100 FPS average to 30 FPS with the newest Driver Update and 1440p

Specs:
4070ti 12gb
Ryzen 7 7700x
32 GB ddr5 5600

Why Does it Run Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after 2-3 hours?

I haven't had memory issues, but I did have an issue where after an hour or two, I would get these harsh pauses or stutters, which would eventually lead to a crash.

Turns out Malware Bytes really didn't like this game and would scrutinise it heavily, if you have any kind of Anti Malware/Virus that has live protection or something of that sort, turn it off if you're playing this game.

I've since turned it off for other games as well, and they also seem to be doing better, didn't realise how much trouble MB was giving me until now.

I think it has something to do with how much data is being read from the SSD/HDD, and the live protection stuff needs to go through all of that data and eventually chugs, that's what I'm telling myself anyway, I haven't had any problems since turning it off.

There has to be a memory leak cause it is also happening to me.

Hardware:
RTX 3070 Ti 8GB.
i7-12700K (stock speeds).
32GB DDR5 Memory.
Lastest drivers installed.

At 1080p, high settings, 60 refresh rate. After a few hours my frame rate is all
over the place, dipping into the 20's or so and staying there, till I restart the game.

Welcome to nixxes ports. Some people will now come say your 4070ti is not enough to run this game.

I heared from a friend with a 4090 and ryzen processor as well that its running with no Problems even after 5 hours of gameplay. Maybe the 4070ti IS really to old
This happens to me as well. I've also noticed that my ps5 controller causes fps issues too? When its plugged in or connected via bluetooth my fps tanks to the lower 30's and 20's. Playing with kb&m and my fps is back to normal between 70-90

You have 24gbs. You don't have to worry.

If so, trying to lowering textues may help. (to the thread maker)

I'm trying to play again now after a few hrs and the game is completely unplayable for me. I'm doing the quest where you get the bow and I cant even play, fps dips to less than 10, even 1, constant stutters and freezes cant even maintain a stable 20fps lol :(

Same. At least a restart of the game fixes it for awhile. Definitely a shame since the game otherwise runs REALLY well even with settings turned up hard.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

I remember hearing about weird issues like this with PS controller for some other game too, so might not even be specific to this game. Anyway, with K+M haven't had any performance issues even after several hours of playing.

For people suggesting that it's a hardware issue or that turning settings down will help, no.

There is 100% a memory leak somewhere. The proof is that restarting the game takes it from sub 10s (if you let the leak stack for long enough) immediately to 100+ after restarting in the same area.

If it's not happening to everyone, it could be setup related, or a specific setting causing the leak. Sometimes even something like clicking out and back into a game can cause leaks, so someone with dual monitors who clicks out often might run into it more. Who knows, hopefully devs address it soon cuz it's way easier to find the leak if you've got devtools to work with.

I have a similar issue I can hold 60fps/120fps most of the time depending what res/settings i play on but for some reason my gpu usage spikes to 100% and stays there and the game just chugs down to like 50/40/30 fps until the game is restarted. My VRAM is nowhere near maxed out and sits at around 9GB. I managed to fix this today without restarting by setting the settings to the lowest and letting the gpu usage drop and then back up to ultra again and the framerate stays locked at 60 without issues.
