Lack of a mini map or markers
I understand what they were going for with the wind thing. However, I do wish they had an option to simply use a mini map. Or at the very least, have a marker on screen. Perhaps I'm just not used to the mechanic yet. But I'm not a fan of using the wind to guide me. Aside from that nitpick, I'm enjoying the game so far.

I find it very annoying to clear the fog from the map without a minimap, I have to keep stopping to check the map, turn myself around and go to the next white spot to fill it in. Sure the wind could guide me, but I would still have to be constantly going to the map to place the markers.
They should have at least given you the option for a mini map. Don't like it? Turn it off. Directionally challenged and need it? Turn it on. Maybe even make it an option in one of the d-pad menus, where it's hidden, but selecting it from the d-pad will reveal it for 15 seconds or so.

In my case, I like following roads to explore areas of the map I haven't been to before, and lack of a mini map is big pain point. I ride a certain distance, then have to stop, open the main map, check to see if I'm still on the right road, and what turns are coming up, then close the map, ride past a few more turns and repeat the process. It's super annoying, especially when it would have been simple for them to turn the mini map into a toggleable option for those that don't want it. Heck, they could even have left it off by default and then just given us an option to turn it on if we needed it.

Never play Elden Ring.

Im actually turning into the opposite. I love games that allow me to turn off as much stuff as possible outside of combat.

No X-ray vision either. Absolute bliss.
This game has me wanting to turn off the UI in every other game.

You can make the wind easier to see in the accessibility options, but I really love the lack of UI in this game. Every game should have it at this point

Why be mean?
i almost got an heartattaack! Dude, play the game, experience the world, breath it! Dont ask for a minimap or a quest markers, play the game, be the ghost!!
The only time I get annoyed by the lack of an onscreen UI is when I need to know what the bonus objective is for a Mongol camp and then I have to wait for the game to randomly display. Sometimes it's right away, but a lot of other times I can get inside then wait around and it never shows up until I'm mostly done clearing it THEN it'll say "assassinate an enemy investigating a wind chime".

Manually activating guiding wind makes the UI objectives reappear briefly.

I never stopped to consider that (obviously). Thanks.

You don't have to do that manually, the main thing is to free locations. Once you free all the locations in that given segment of Tsushima it'll fully clear the fog for it and reveal all the points of interest (as ? marks though, you'll still have to visit them to find out exactly what they are). If you go to Act II the game will mark several farms for you in the first area and people will usually give rumors that hint at where camps are. You can also look for black smoke in the sky. Thats usually an indicator where a camp is to be liberated

"Use your eyes, explore, feel, and stop to be assisted in everything".

That's exacly the message of the game. The game design, the level design and the (fantastic) work of the UI/UX give you everything you need to know.

It's not Assassin ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Creed.
I personally think this is a bad point to make, witcher 3 has a mini map and that game is still incredible and gorgeous and if you want, you have the option to turn it off, in tsushima you have zero option. I enjoyed the game all the way through with no mini map but when it came down to collecting all the collectibles I personally think a mini map would go a long way for finding them without constantly going back to a guide and taking me away from the experience. Just my opinion feel free to disagree.
