YASUKE WASN'T A SAMURAI
Yasuke was in Japan only 1 year

As a Japanese person, I’ve waited for AC to adapt a Japanese story, so I can play an epic story of a SAMURAI in Japan.
Now in current year, we don’t get a samurai but a forced diversity character that’s not a samurai, OR Japanese.
For context; the real historical Yasuke met Nobunaga for a year, then was sold back to the Jesuits and never obtained a rank as a samurai.

There is no way an African man learned the way of Bushido and Way of Sword within one year, The noble japanese keep him only because his dark skin which is very interest japanese at that time.

99.99% of the population in that historical period were Japanese
Ubisoft decided to take advantage of the fact that a black person had once arrived there and create a black samurai who was not actually a samurai

he doesn't even speak japanese

Samurai would take 5-8 years to train, and Nobunaka only have Yasuke as exotic slave.
He wasn’t a warrior, he just carry sword for his master as a slave, he has no intention to fight and die for Japanese in Japan land. He has nothing to do with samurai or honor to be a samurai.

The Assassin's Creed forums are somewhere else.

Of course not, and this doesn't matter though does it Ubisoft has always taken historical reality and shifted it around their game design.

But it is also a fact he wouldn't be the protagonist if he wasn't black, so in that sense his historical insignificance is quite significant in that it only heightens that point. Frankly i think its quite demeaning they went out of their way to make him so prominent, especially to the Japanese i would be pissed.

A game where black people massacre Japanese people in the Sengoku period is a perfect example of UBI. Is this what happends when political correctness is taken to the extreme?

Yasuke is not samurai, he was kept as slave a page, he wasn't permission to wear/given samurai armor or given Samurai title by Nobunaka.

This modern world/video game politic industry and DEI is getting way out of hand.

Some of yall really need to read a history book on how scummy plenty of Samurai were and how the title was just granted to favorites.

Yasuke was given a position as a samurai by Nobunaga, a rare honor for a non-Japanese person, and fought alongside Nobunaga during his campaigns. so, while he didn't have any formal traditional training, he was Samurai due to Nobunaga gave him that title and position. its similar to how the Queen of England use to Knight people.

Lol no, he was a retainer, not a Samurai.

Oh yeah, Knights were like mobsters more than anything. Hired muscle with armor and authority.

Retainer doesn't necessary imply samurai. He was akin to squire, holding his masters weapons. High honour to be sure but there is no evidence of him ever being named a samurai.

Like every nobility everywhere, really. Including modern day "nobility" on their islands.

Ubisoft went to Wekipedia and change it to Samurai, before game there wasn't anywhere written in history that Yasuke was a Samurai. You can scroll on bottom of place of Wikipedia of Yasuke's page and it been change like 50 times on May 15 cause people arguing.

He was a servant, a retainer. Who say he is a Samurai, u even know what it mean or how long it take for one to be train and become Samurai?

There is no way this man is a samurai or given honor as a samurai after step in Japan
and only staying there for a year.

Nothing make sense

Pretty much, yet we get all the movies about how chivlarous they were these days. same with Samurai.

Heck, I've been listening to youtube vids about them. Pretty interesting. Imagine getting into battle, chopping off someones head and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off because you think you earned your keep, even more so when you chop the head of a rando and than present it to your lord as someone important.

no wonder Japanese needed kamikaze to save their asses twice against the mongols.
