CRASH AT LAUNCH (RESOLVED)
*UPDATE*
Uninstalled the PsPcSdkRuntimeInstaller.msi from Windows Apps & Features.
Seems to work like any other game now. Even cranked graphics up and enabled AMD FSR.
Only tested for a few minutes today, but finally got into the game.
Thanks for all the help everyone. Cheers!

Every time I select 'PLAY' from Launcher. Screen goes black for a second and then crashes to error message.
I've turned off all graphics features, up scaling, etc. Set resolution lower.
Doesn't seem to help. Will try re downloading and installing later.
NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti
Driver version 552.44
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @3.40GHz
15.89 GB RAM

Change GhostOfTsushima.exe to Windows 8 compatibility. Worked for me. Good luck.

I have identical hardware specs and with me for more than 3 hours of game play only 2 times it kicked me out with a message that it's possible I have an old driver, and I have the same as you then we are waiting for NVIDIA to release a driver under GOT ;)
game is working fine check out the requirements on the shop page.

Same here. It might be that they stated the need of CPU's with AVX instruction set and f16c. The problem is that 3770 support both instruction sets so the devs and publisher probably got it wrong and the requirement is AVX2 or AVX-512. Also they did not state this in the store page, just in a post published yesterday so is a big communication mistake.
I know the crash dump states "illegal instruction" at the end so that's the reason I think is about this.

The same CPU? Please I need to know to decide if I'm going for a refund.

I can't even open the launcher, it crashes EARLIER and says "Play" again...

Well that's a mighty progress. So the instruction set requirements are not to blame here. Thanks for the quick answer. Then it might be a driver problem. I don't know if I'm into testing an older Nvidia driver but is tempting.
I also noticed that even is the crash happens just seconds after hitting "play" in the startup setup menu, in "temp" shader files the compilation was initiated.
In the documents folder txt when the crash happens the last written information is:
"Unhandled exception at address 0x00000000.... (code: 0xc000001d): "Illegal instruction"

Not yet :(
I'm seeing some people having the same problem, and the similarity between us is the CPU. I still don't know if the 3770 can run the game or not
