Do I get a free copy for my PSN account?
I'm just throwing this question out there because when I got Portal 2 years ago for PS3. I got a code along with it to get Portal 2 on PC/Steam for free which is why I even have a Steam account to begin with. So does the same thing happen here if I purchase it and tie my PSN account to it that I will receive a Free copy that if I get a PS5(whenever they have backwards compatibility to the good games of old) I would be able to download that to my future PS5?

To give me a reason to buy this let alone connect my PSN account to my Steam account. They want people on their PSN more than my money so what's in it for me to inflate those numbers to show to there shareholders that PSN isn't a waste.

Dude you're referring to something that never really took off at the time. Steam/psn crossover on ps3. It was killed off as a feature pretty much after it happened.

so your begging for a free game essentially?

bud ghost of tsushima is a masterpiece. if your refusing to buy it because "reeeeee i refuse to connect my steam account to PSN" then thats your loss

If you already have a PSN account, I doubt linking would boost their numbers. Pretty sure you'd still count as one account. Now if I created a PSN account solely for this game, I'd count as a new PSN user as I havent had a Playstation in my house since the PS2.

Well it's either buy it here and do the PSN stuff or buy a PS5 and a copy of the game to just be a really expensive paperweight because it can't play my existing library of old PS titles on new hardware with Ghost of Tsushima as well. 1 game of high quality(that I recall got needless flak from journos when it came out) doesn't justify buying the hardware needed for it let alone a service that is infamous with being hacked since it's early years of the PS3.

I thought Half-Life 2 was involved, too. But I could be mistaken.

Either way, in my opinion, the more PS games that come to Steam, the better. Sony make a loss on every console as it is, so the more Sony games on Steam is just profit for Sony.

I only have a psn account because I bought a ps3 near the end of its release. I literally got the ps3 for MGS series after MGSV came out. This is why the phrase "system seller" applies to certain games, like MGS.

And I don't really follow trends and busted a few PS3's before I had any tech knowledge which is why I'm skeptical with modern consoles on top of wanting backwards compatibility. And bringing up Metal Gear sort of shows a point because Konami is just repackaging the same MGS Legacy Collection from the PS3 but splitting it in half with both having a $60 price tag on them with no real improvements on modern consoles. They want(or any company that does this) to make a new bundle of there old games to a modern Console/PC. Then it better be worth the price or I'm just gonna play the version that came on the system it was meant to be played on for a far cheaper price(unless it's a Nintendo game because some of those games are triple there original price).

The PSN Account is literally only required for the multiplayer.

1) Your lack of technical knowledge isn't the fault of Sony or anyone else.

2) Yes, NOW Konami are bringing MGS to other systems. However, when I wanted to play those games, the ONLY way was a ps3. You need to appreciate that I got my ps3 in 2015, about three months after the launch if MGSV. There was not a trend of people doing what I did, when I did. Instead there was a petition thread requesting the Legacy Collection be released on Steam. What I did was considered a bit outrageous at the time - buying a console for one set of games. Especially considering PS4 was also out at the time.
