"Game looks great in 4k on my $3000 PC"
That's fantastic to hear, Larry.

Not all of us have $3000 PC's, with a 4K monitor, but we shouldn't have to invest so much money into a PC to get a simple 60 FPS with some decent visual quality. My medium tier PC should be able to at least get 60 FPS at 1440p, if not 50 FPS in this game, and it can't even do that. Yeah, we know all of you with $3000 PC's are enjoying the game, I'd be shocked if it wasn't working on your behemoth PC's. It doesn't mean you need to go into every thread and brag about, because I promise you that you are in the minority of players with a PC that advanced.

It probably runs like trash on their 3000$ PC as well. They just don't like to admit it. It's an ego thing.

A GTX 1080 is not outperforming a PS5, so I'm going to assume you're joking.

The PS5 has a GPU on par with a 2070 and that's been proven/confirmed by multiple sources, but he probably doesn't know the internal specs of a PS5, so he's just trolling.

i opened up the PS5 and saw its specs and yep its outdated hardware from years ago. PS5 is a very limited machine cant really do anything on it

Ryzen 7 3700X plus 2060S is NOT a mid-tier PC and definitely not recommended to run 1440p.

I'd beg to differ as it can run plenty of games at 60 FPS at 1440p, also you're underestimating up-scaling technology. I can run Starfield at 1440p and get 60+ FPS easily, granted with upscaling/frame generation.
Starfield is graphically way more intensive than Ghost of Tsushima, there is no way you can easily get 60+ FPS at 1440p, as you said yourself.

I'm on a 2060 as well, and there is no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way. I've tested several methods so far and can only get 40 FPS on medium settings. What resolution are you on? It's gotta be 1080, I'm on 1440p and can't even get above 40 FPS.

I turned down my resolution to 1080p on the PC version and it looked like blurry smeared hot doo doo garbage compared to the sharpness/clarity of 1440p, and I don't remember it looking that bad on PS5, so agree to disagree at this point. I clearly had a better experience playing this game on PS5 than you did, or what you watched/saw, I guess?
Are you sure you don't have some upscaling stuff or dynamic resolution scaling turned on? Those things don't work amazingly well in 1080p. Especially FSR...XeSS and DLSS may have still acceptable visual quality. But your description of bluriness just seems like you forgot to turn some of these things off.

I don't like to game without utilizing upscaling tech, I can try running it without upscaling but I'll most likely get pretty low FPS without it. I doubt I'll get 60 FPS on medium settings with DLSS turned off? Maybe on 1080p resolution, but not 1440p. I really would rather play in 1440p because 1080p looked blurrier to me, but maybe that was the upscaling that was making it look that way, I'll have to test it out.
Listen linda, Just because you are broke don't get mad at Lary because he has a capable pc and you clearly don't. Anything less than an MSI 4090 and a 14900KF is CHILDS PLAY. 3k is mid btw. My monitor cost more than that.

Starfield... more intensive than this game...

Please tell me you're joking. Starfield is unoptimised, horrendous mess that had a forum find out that the engine was fumbled on the CPU side.

I'd say the main issue is the fact you're trying to run a game at 1440p on a 5 year old card. You can complain about it as much as you want, but at some point you just hit some limits and either have to turn on some upscaling, decrease some settings, or get a new GPU. Your 2060S is outperformed by today's low end cards for 1080p gaming, so I don't get your surprise that you can't play a new release in native 1440p on it.

Props for actually finding that post, and it's true that I COULDN'T get 60 FPS when Starfield first came out, as when I made that post, but I recently went back to it with the patches and everything and now I can get 60-100 FPS with upscaling and frame generation, honestly frame generation was a game changer for me in Starfield, so NOW I CAN get 60+ FPS, which is what I said in my original post directed at you. That post you found is from when the game launched on DAY ONE.
You can spawn 2423926757657035 cheese wheels in Starfield It will run with 10 fps but you can do...so you need to upgrade!

Look, I'll go test your theory. I'll go in-game right now, turn down the resolution to 1080p, turn off upscaling, and if looks like blurry smeared hot doo doo garbage and I don't get 60+ consistent FPS then you have to eat your shoe with a clown hat on.

Sounds like something someone without a $3000 PC without a 4K monitor would say...
Those are Rookie numbers, Gotta double that!

Actually some custom computers are over six times that. These days it all depends on how much money you've got.

But going back to the premise of this thread. I do agree that requirements in order to play most games on PC these days are getting more demanding and you seem to need better parts then you should.

When you apart a PS5 the specs are not much better then most peoples computers but can play the games perfectly. Some people don't realise that's because they are built just to play games nothing else.

But do I agree that in order for us to max out all the graphics for certain games you have to pay three to four times more than the price of a PS5? Simple answer No.

It's a 2060 Super? I think I clarified that and mentioned it several times.
