Gestures not working on dualshock or xbox one controller

The trackpad on the dualshock does not work in game. When I test the controller in the Steam settings menu, the trackpad works fine and the controller lights up. But in game lights turn off and the trackpad stops working.
Have tried using an Xbox one controller, but the button for gestures (right D-pad) is unresponsive.
Hoping anyone has any ideas whats wrong.

How far are you in the game? the gestures are not available until you get the Act 1 splash

I'm experiencing the same thing. Supposedly disabling steam input is supposed to make it work but that did nothing for me.

I am where im supposed to follow the wind. IIRC pushing up on the trackpad is supposed to give a gust of wind. Have also tried disabling steam input withiout success.

Managed to get it working by holding down the PS button on the dual sense and then swiping the touch pad at the same time, but that also swings the camera in the same direction as well. Definitely not ideal. Anybody know what could be wrong?

Yeah not working for me either.. Now the game is unplayable since you need if for the Guiding Wind and sometimes for Bowing and Flute

Just tried this, unfortunately didnt work. Only moved the camera around.

Got DS4 enabled? Disable it. I uninstalled it completely, and it got the trackpad working as intended for me.

Managed to work this out. You need to swipe the touch pad instead of pressing it in.
