Sound gets lower when using PS5 controller (wired)
Having a sound issue where when I'm using my ps5 dualsense edge controller with a wired connection so I get the haptics, the sound gets more quiet whenever I move forward or press any button and I have to adjust the speaker level to return it to normal, never had this issue before using this controller and these same speakers, I'm using Logitech G560 speakers. Would appreciate any help or a fix!

Ya, my friends stream was having this same issue. No known fix, just an FYI that I saw the problem replicated.

The audio changes to the controller audio when I plug mine in...

The issue I had was that it changes the audio on your pc to feed everything though the Dualsense, you have to alt tab out of the game and change it back to your normal output.

...Is the low volume because its coming from the controller?

Oh is that what was happening? During the intro I was alt-tabbing and suddenly the game was significantly louder, then when I alt tabbed again it got quiet again. That's quite the interesting bug.

So I think I found a temp fix for this. Unplug the controller, let it spaz out for a bit, check if the sound has increased. If it has, plug the controller back in, let it reconnect, and the volume should still be normal. I think it might be a thing with starting the game or alt-tabbing. This seems to be working until they patch the issue, hopefully

Go to your volume settings in windows & fine the wireless controller speaker. Disable it from being used for audio. This worked for me!

I have also the feeling that it falls back to stereo from Atmos.

I'm probably talking nonsense, could it be that by any chance this problem is related to the “microphone” present on the PS5 controller? Did you try to disable it from the device list, ditto when it comes to the audio options within the game?

Didn't work for me. My PS5 controller is disabled in the sound settings in Windows and I still have the problem. Didn't have any issues before the last update. Now I have the audio bug. It's probably something they did in the update that caused the audio issue.

yeah I get the same thing when I play with my controller, didn't notice it at first until I pressed F12 for a screenshot, now I can't stop noticing it when I'm switching from my keyboard and controller.

Even with all the updates the problem still exists. I've disabled the microphone and tried many other things to try and fix it but nothing helps. Such a shame because the haptics feel great!

you guys tried this?

All Sony controllers present themselves as handsets, windows by default switches to handset class devices and additionally lowers volume to 80% for all sound output devices.

It's in Windows settings > System > Sound > Advanced > More sound settings > Communications tab, you can change that to Do nothing.
