AMD GPU Crash Fix
If you have an AMD GPU and are suffering constant crashing ensure you have FSR and Frame Generation turned off. I also had to downgrade to the previous driver version as there seems to be an issue with the Ghost of Tsushima "optimised" driver.

No fps drops or anything, no strange voltages or high temperatures. Kinda surprised this game barely makes my fans speed up, it's quite well optimized except for the crashes.
Same here. Don’t use the exclusive full screen option. Use the “normal” full screen mode. That fixed it for me the game is running great now.

I'm on a 7900XTX using 24.5.1, Maxed settings, 3440x1440, FSR set to Quality with frame gen on. Zero issues.

Maybe I'm just lucky but it's running silky smooth for me.

EDIT

I just experimented a little and if I turn on Anti-Lag in the driver (which I generally always have turned off) I get issues ranging from crashes to the game simply not loading, But if I disable this in the driver the game is silky smooth.

Hopefully that little bit of info is useful to someone.

7800XT here and crashing every 10-20 minutes in the castle.
Driver 24.5.1 default settings
max graphics, FSR off, frame generation off, XeSS off, any stuff like that is off.
I'm going to try to revert drivers. Incredible that ♥♥♥♥ like this keeps happening with new games, freaking amd drivers.

Do you by chance have anti lag on in the driver ? I think it's on by default.

I asked on my gaming groups Discord for the 3 users who have 7800XT's and none have issues, All 3 also have anti-lag disabled.

No clue then, The 3 members of my Discord server who have 7800XT's are playing the game just fine.

If it was purely a driver issue it wouldn't let you play for 10-20 minutes at a time. From experience and I could very well be wrong but that to me says the issues lies elsewhere.

I don't think you are right, just a while ago when Helldivers 2 released, the drivers were a ♥♥♥♥ show, people could play 5-40 minutes and it would crash. Till 2 months later amd fixed their ♥♥♥♥ and people with 7000 gpus could play the game stable with max graphics.

12700k + 6700 XT : 24.5.1
Everything on very high (not ultra for the shadows & the volumetric thing but the rest at the max we can)
FSR 3.0 & NO Fake frame : 0 crash
Oh I forgot : playing on 2560x1440 (144Hz but I cap the FPS @ 90 because I don't feel the need for more)

It would be interesting to see what people have on their systems, From past experiences the majority, Not all, Complaining are running something or have tweaked something that has made their system unstable.

I can’t even access the settings in game, the game crashes before I can do anything.

There's something wrong with your system then... before you type out the typical Steam user response of "no there isn't my system is perfect"... be objective, What are your specs, Is your OS up to date, Are all of your systems drivers up to date, Do you have software running that could conflict with the game ?

So how we can fix that? I have a RX 6650 xt and i had multiple crashes enabling the frame generation
MajorLeandro May 16, 2024 @ 10:24pm
6750 XT FSR works well, but i disable frame generation to prevent freezes 4 hours without issues
Law Zaun May 17, 2024 @ 12:52am
After downgrading to 24.4.1 and with no fsr 3 and frame generation i can play smoothly at 1440P max settings and i've an average of 75 fps.
Ryzen 5 5600x and Rx 7800XT
