Game hitching every 10-30 seconds
As title says game is hitching every 10-30 seconds. No pc compeonet is running max or overheating. Its also causing all other programs to slow down in the background which is strange since nothing is running at 100%.

System Specs
5800X3D PBO2 and CO -30 (4.45Ghz)
MSI Suprim X RTX 4090
Game installed on a M2 850x 4TB (drive is not overheating either)
32GB ddr4 CL16 memory
2560x1440p

Honestly no idea why this is happening I also installed newest Nvidia driver. Horizon forbidden west runs with not 1 issue. However this game is making my system run very slow without even maxing out anything. Like serious i fps limited the game to 100fps. So gpu is only going from 50-80%. cpu is hovering around 50% as well. Any idea anyone? I'm also not the only one of my family members has a 7950X3D and 4090 with same issues.

Have you tried disabling Razer Synapse and other 3rd party software?

Eww Razer. Yea dw i dont even have that installed on this windows with how many issues that program caused on previous systems. Other than that all i got running is discord and MSI after burner.

experiencing constant freezes when playing like you described, rtx 4080 + i7-13700k

Same here with Ra7 5800x & 4070.

Ditto

7800X3D + 7900XTX with updated drivers. Was working fine for awhile.

I did a shader reset, went with limited feedback, and once I restarted the game it was fine.

Never mind, played about an hour and it started doing it again when the game autosaves.

I think i found the Hitching issue but not the background programs slowdown issue.

Hitching is happening every time the game autosaves. However have seen it once or twice when its not autosaving. But Autosave is one of the primary reasons.

Nevermind its happening more more often than just autosaving.

ive got the same problem not sure why

Seem to have fixed it by disabling Discord and Nvidia overlay but it still happens on autosaves. Could come back but worth a try for now.

Same issue - 6900XT and 5950x
Loading times on an M.2 was fine in the beginning, but after doing prologue they're excruciatingly long, and seemingly gets longer as the lag spikes also grow longer for some strange reason. Dying and reloading feels like it takes 2 minutes, and the game looks like it almost crashed.

Same issue here, 13900k and 4090 + 32GB RAM
Prologue was perfectly fine (1440p, 144 FPS + DLSS), but now freezes of 1-2 seconds every 30 seconds or so.
Also if it happens during a Stand off, it breaks the entire thing and you stand there like a sack of potatos.

thats because of your 13900k the 13900k and 14900k are rampant with issues right now you might want to enforce power limits in your BIOS or reduce the CPU Ratio to 53x there has been known issues with games like this which use shader building and oodle decrompression crashes
Having the same problem I9 13900k 4090 with 32 GB ram. Also, a lot of the times when trying to save the saves don't appear and can't save. Fighting a bear is impossible because as he/she is about to attack I get lag for about 2 seconds.... What is going on?

Already put the limit up couple days ago, since i started experiencing Unreal Engine and DX12 games crashes on start up, with Starship Troopers for example.
Lowering the CPU to 54x i believe, in XTU fixed that issue.

Sadly here it has no effect, if that was the case freezes should've also occurred during the prologue.

Seems like turning off DLSS/Frame Gen lessened the freezes a little but but not by much.

same issue here on a 4090 130 fps but hitches every 30secs to a min
