Same issue here, tried wired and wireless, without steam input (since the game should have better compatibility by default)

Okay so wired works, you just can't bow during the funeral flashback... Wack

Mine works on wired , didn't try wireless yet

Yes. Mine is not working properly. I have zero haptic feedback,. sprint doesnt work properly, and menu navigating moves too fast with both analog, and d pad. i have tried both steam input setting and default (ps5)

I use ds4 and have no issues with any other game. this is balls

I am using an official ps5 controller wired in

You can Try just Hold R2 & Press X, I don't know why after I finished this game the focus button changed to R2 + Press X then release the X button, This Bug when Ghost of Tsushima was first released on PS4

I've tried on both wired and wireless. On wired my controller touchpad works just like on PS4, while using the Playstation wireless adapter the touch pad doesn't work and I have to use the right stick left d-pad to use the wind. If you want the Playstation experience you'll need to use a wired connection.

You need wired connection. Turn off any emulators like DS4. Make sure Steam Input is turned off in controller settings
for future people that have this problem: solution that worked for me was to install DS4Windows (link: https://ds4-windows.com/get-started/), remeber to install all necessary drivers, set up in settings to emulate DualShock 4 instead of XBox 360 pad, touchpad set as passtrhu and gyro as passthru (if needed I can make a yt guide how to do it)
DualSense touchpad is working fine. Try updating latest firmware and restart your PC.

Update your Dualsense firmware.

Don’t do this. It’s unnecessary. Steam works with the PS4 and PS5 controllers without any need for anything else. Using DS4 is likely to cause you more problems.
If you are having controller problems, press Alt+Tab during gameplay to bring up the Steam Overlay, go to Controller Options and turn off Steam Input.

If you’re still having issues try restarting Steam or your PC

This 100%.

You do not need Third Party emulators anymore, at least for games that support SteamInput API.
I FOUND A FIX FOR ME
Hello party ppl. Apologies if this isn't perfectly relevant.

I had this issue playing Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on PC with a DualSense.

Trackpad click would work, but not directional swipe. Everything else was fine.

I was running the Horizon .exe as Admin. That's what "made it stop working" (or at least was a catalyst. Perhaps this speaks to a larger issue, I don't know - but my solution was to NOT run the game as Admin. Went back to working immediately.

You shouldn't be running a Video Game as admin anyways. It messes with a bunch of Steam stuff.

Try unplugging it and plugging in while playing. That fixes most issues for me. Everything works great in this game. Make sure steam input is disabled as it supports DS controllers natively.
