In cutscenes I don't mind but ingame I would prefer full screen.
Not for me they are also ingame.
Absoultely..you can argue about it on a big tv screen, even though I personally don't need it there either. But on a mostly smaller PC screen it's just annoying.
Also I don't understand how it should help the immersion as I find the transition from cutscenes with black bars to fullscreen or vice versa the opposite.
But maybe I shouldn't say that to loud as some devs may get the idea to make the black bars also during the gameplay instead of just give us an option to turn it on or off according to our preference.
It probably is your aspect ratio though.
Fully agree, also never been a fan of black bars no matter what the screen, just on a regular size 16:9 its easier to get used to. The whole point of cinematic bars is to simulate a 21:9 apect ratio anyway so it really doesnt make sense on actual 21:9 monitors.
Red Dead Redemption 2 does it as well and theres a mod to get rid of it so im sure the same will be done for this game
The original cutscenes are already 21:9, just let them fill the screen.
At least with the way they implemented it here they aren't cutting any of the original frame off, but it just looks bad this way with the black bars and the pre-rendered cutscenes have black bars on all sides... Can't wait for mods to roll out.

If you're on Ultrawide, make sure to disable FOV compensation in the .ini
