but that presents a new problem, all audio now comes through the PS5 controller, and no longer through my headphones, and no matter how much i switch my primary audio device, it does nothing and the ingame option is still grayed out.
I had haptic start to work after I disabled steam input. But I have had no luck changing the game sound from controller to actual speakers, which is rather annoying. This was happening before and after disabling steam input for controller.
Edit. Nevermind. I'm an idiot. It just defaults to controller for audio.. can just change that in normal settings on pc... silly me.
i didn't have to disable steam input for it to work.
but yeah, as soon as i launch the game, every single bit of audio is redirected through the PS5 controller, and it persists even after closing the game.
did some googling, and Returnal had the same issue, but i have yet to see a solution to this problem.
Have you used the Dualsense Updater from Sony? You might be behind in drivers.
it's a brand new controller that i got with my PS5 slim last week, it got the latest firmware updates.
but i just noticed that when i disabled the controller audio in windows, launched the game and then re-enabled the controller audio in the windows settings, the controller didn't hijack the sound, and i now have audio through my headset and working haptic feedback (this was immediatly noticable after walking a bit before and after re-enabling the sound settings in windows).
A potential fix could be using one of the DS4Windows emulators. They from what I understand work with Dualsense.
When you plug in/turn on does Steam recognize it?
You may potentially have hideHID still installed and/or turned on, so it will hide your controller and make it inoperable w/o DS4Windows/DSX
This is really the thread. For whatever reason there isn't good native support via bluetooth for a lot of these dualsense games but plugging it in and everything works as its supposed to. Literally every game that supports it that I've played you have to hardwire for.
my ps5 controller is not plugged in and i can do swipe sheeths as normal via bluetooth
I run all my Dualsense on BT on PC. There is no issue. Make sure you always have your Dualsense drivers fully update with the Sony Update Tool. The only time my DS is plugged in is to charge it.
I am however, not using the Mobo BT adapter, I bought a premium Asus BT Dongle.
