Finished preload but wants me to download the game again?
Took me the whole day and now wants me to redownload >40 GB again??

I could see the cache still but the usually replace files then file verification doesn't work, it just redownloads it again.

Preload isnt an install.... they still have to unpack the data.

Preload is only worth it if your internet is super slow. In most cases if you have decent internet you'll download and install it faster than you would unpack it.

Mine finished downloading, not my first preload. When the play button came up green it redownloads the game again even though I can still see the game fully downloaded in the cache but won't initiate the unpacking.

Network activity is up, disk usage is idle (I have gen4 NVME, so unpacking would've just take 5 minutes). It is not unpacking but redownloading the game again because disk is idle while my network is showing download traffic on Steam.

Well yes that's why I needed the preload in the first place.
I have a NVME so it would unpack in 5-10mins.

The unpack for me 5-10 mins. The download was about 3-5 hours. Definitely makes sense for me to preload.

I have successfully preloaded 5 games on Steam in the past, this is the first time where it did not go straight to unpacking, 52GB of files sitting in the cache still encrypted but it redownloads again, ignoring the 52GB paper weight on my drive.
