I couldn't fix the audio for my speakers no matter what, I haven't gone past the intro yet because the voices were always silent. I had to resort to headphones to get the sound working, which is fine for me since I have good cans.
Sound works fine through my headphones, but doesn't work fully through my receiver. I have 7.1 surround, and it kinda seems like im only getting stereo channels and center is cut out or something?

Hey guys, so here is what ended up being my issue, and maybe it will help some of you:

Basically, if you use your Nvidia GPU's HDMI audio, and you installed the drivers recently, it may have uninstalled the HDMI audio drivers.

When I went to install the latest Nvidia drivers, it was showing the same HDMI audio version as what was already installed, so I unticked the box, but that apparently uninstalled the HDMI audio drivers altogether. Once I reinstalled the drivers, my sound started working right again.

I have 7.1 sound through a receiver, and I figured out that the game itself wasn't the issue when I went to the windows audio "advanced setup" menu where you can configure/test speakers. When I tested my receiver, even though it showed it was playing all of the channels, I only heard sound from the front L/R speakers. Once I reinstalled the Nvidia drivers so I could install the HDMI driver again, this corrected it and now the game audio works like its supposed to.

Initially, I wasn't getting any of the voices in the first cutscene, and the sound just seemed like it was missing something, and it didn't sound like anything was coming from the center channel, so that's what tipped me off. That, plus my headphones worked fine.

I foud a fix for this.
I have only 1 monitor and i had this problem because my monitor has build-in speakers.
Solution : Disable everything else from sound settings and leave only the device you are using enabled. In my case the headphones.
Hope it helps!
i have also one monitor and i have everything disabled except my headphones ,but still not getting voice of dialoges

I had the same issue as well. The way I got the sound effects back was just by switching the audio output, in game, from headphones (what I had mine set to) to something else like home theater. The sound effects came back and I was able to switch the audio output back to headphones with no issues yet...
I just restarted my game and it fix itself
here's what i did to fix this issue. i was experiencing the same thing. i only have one monitor and when i connected my soundbar to the graphics card via HDMI, it wasn't recognizing the soundbar as an audio device, rather it was seeing it as a display.

so i went to display settings and selected "duplicate display" as soon as i did that it added the soundbar as an audio device. to check just go to sound settings and it should be already selected if not make sure you're selecting the audio device you're using.

when i launched the game the audio was working properly, all voices and characters are able to be heard for me now even in the cut scenes.

i hope this helps!
Having the same issue but only when I use headphones. Voices are either missing or sound extremely distant, as well as other sounds just missing like horse running footsteps.
Had this happen after going to Iki island out of nowhere. Haven't gone to the mainland yet but hopefully it goes away. I noticed that all dialogue/gameplay sounds go away mostly when hitting the "stealth hearing" button and activating that. It goes away after 2-10 seconds but it's super random. Showed up after 30 hours out of the blue with no fix, weird.
1. Go to Windows Settings > System > Sound > All sound devices
2. Choose your device
3. Set Audio enhancements to off

Works for me :)
I find something you just have to change audio from headphones to home cinema or speaker whatever you want if that change the settings I think

To fix this issue you first want to check your motherboard audio drivers are up to date after that make sure you are using the correct sound output for you headphones/speakers if one device has multiple outputs you may have to try them to find the right one (ex: my Inzone display as Inzone earbuds with 2 options (game)&(Chat) Game would provide some audio but no voice dialogue Chat provided all audio.) Hope this helps! This is what i did after troubleshooting for awhile this is what worked for me
Having the same issue and tried everything but it aint working
