Basically, if you use your Nvidia GPU's HDMI audio, and you installed the drivers recently, it may have uninstalled the HDMI audio drivers.
When I went to install the latest Nvidia drivers, it was showing the same HDMI audio version as what was already installed, so I unticked the box, but that apparently uninstalled the HDMI audio drivers altogether. Once I reinstalled the drivers, my sound started working right again.
I have 7.1 sound through a receiver, and I figured out that the game itself wasn't the issue when I went to the windows audio "advanced setup" menu where you can configure/test speakers. When I tested my receiver, even though it showed it was playing all of the channels, I only heard sound from the front L/R speakers. Once I reinstalled the Nvidia drivers so I could install the HDMI driver again, this corrected it and now the game audio works like its supposed to.
Initially, I wasn't getting any of the voices in the first cutscene, and the sound just seemed like it was missing something, and it didn't sound like anything was coming from the center channel, so that's what tipped me off. That, plus my headphones worked fine.
so i went to display settings and selected "duplicate display" as soon as i did that it added the soundbar as an audio device. to check just go to sound settings and it should be already selected if not make sure you're selecting the audio device you're using.
when i launched the game the audio was working properly, all voices and characters are able to be heard for me now even in the cut scenes.
i hope this helps!
2. Choose your device
3. Set Audio enhancements to off
