Its a completely romanticized story. The whole honor code did not exist, many of the armors worn are from later periods, no Samurai would have any issue with fighting like Jin does and obviously the Mongol invasion played out completely differently too.

This game has far more inaccuracies than what we have seen of AC Shadows so far.

Now is Ghost of Tsushima a much better game than Shadows will probably be? Yes, likely.
It just doesn't care about history at all.
The honor code does exist... several centuries later, it's basically Bushido. Same as the sword, katana don't get made till after the second mongol invasion. If GoT wanted to be more accurate Jin would have been using a tachi.
It takes a drop of water 90 days to travel the entire Mississippi River.

It's accurate but okay.
My guy, ubisoft literally been editing Wikipedia today xd
Go ahead, prove it then. Can't make those statements without showing us.
For reference, here is the revision history
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Yasuke&action=history
so please tell us, where is there a modification by ubisoft or a modification that would benefit ubisoft in regards to his article?

There has been a huge editing war, but it's mostly some guy constantly trying to add "there is no proof yasuke was ever a samurai" is flowery words to fit a paragraph.
edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Yasuke&action=history you can hit "prev" on the left side for each edit to see what was removed or added.

But even the general idea of Bushido does seem to be heavily romanticized. Some version of it was definitely practiced by historical Samurai (but as you said not during the era of the game), but never really to the extreme degree as implied by the game to my knowledge.

Not that it really matters, it makes for an interesting story and that is the important part.

The problem is. the first promotional media about AC shadows was a mugshot of black 'samurai'. Weeks pass and now they say that both characters are LGTV+ and yet we still haven't heard anything about gameplay or story. This zealous focus of DEI and identity politics is the reason why I am so hostile to it, not because of Yasuke. It's reaching levels of absurdity
I don’t know why so many people decided they’re both gay and to keep parroting that from a vague comment about how they’ll have unique relationships with eachother and others because of how different the two of them are. Oh and we do know a lot about gameplay but I suppose whatever you’re parroting forgot to mention anything about building up and customizing your hideout, how both characters share the same weapons but they'll function different, and how they’re going with more lighting based stealth. We also know that Yasuke can’t social stealth, shocking. Also there’s gonna be seasons and weather which greatly affect how you stealth.
Edit: Do I expect the game to be a buggy pile of garbage at launch? Yes. Do I think people are blowing a comment about how the one creed game where you can freely play as two different people who aren't supposed to be the same person will treat people differently is being blown out of the water? Also yes. Which reminds me of a gameplay feature I forgot, you can freely swap between both characters outside of their unique story missions. Think Spiderman 2.
You 100% convinced me that I am a sheep blinded by hate. I shall immediately stop parroting and preorder 5 copies.
Thank you kind sir
They weren't actually called Samurai in the Kamakura period.

Also, there was nothing preventing a guy like Lord Shimura from having developed an honor code he wanted others to follow, even though Bushido wasn't formalized until the Edo period. And Shimura being the jito, they would likely do as he said.
are you people really still arguing over historical accuracy in a video game with magical foxes and magical wind powers? jesus h christ.... "my dead dad literally becoming the wind at my back and foxes protecting me is ok but a woman being able to hold a sword? ridiculous."

same with assassin's creed, like. alien precursor race and magical mind control artifacts and genetic mind time travel? all fine and very reasonable. one black guy as a samurai? nope, belief un-suspended.

just SAY you have the empathic capacity of a wet slice of toast and your brain can't comprehend how to identify with literally anyone who doesn't look and speak like you.
Games like this are not history simulators. None of them are even close to accurate.

He wasn't a samurai.
He was a retainer to Oda Nobunaga himself. Depicting him as a Samurai is definitely not a ridiculous jump in comparison to pretty much every other historical inaccuracy in Assassins Creed or Ghost of Tsushima.
its BASED on the actual attempted mongol invasion of Tsushima and IKI island of japan . if anything, it served the purpose of getting myself interested to look up some history and learn something new about another country and expand the mind a bit.

In the actual history based on my findings, one of the main reasons the mongols lost was because of 2 cases of BAD weather which drove them back. And it also had the samurai rethink the way they fight as well, as they focused one on one and had to switch to guerrilla tactics. this is just a simple summary, they get in more detail.

If your interested just Google the mongol invasion on tsushima and iki island.

It’s even less of a leap considering how many times it has already been done already… it’s basically just a bridge to cross now. But there’s a bridge troll now. And he has no arms.
