Is this game somewhat historically accurate, unlike AC Shadows?

Stop engagement farming like a broke loser. Ghost of Tsushima has existed for 4 years. You already know what the game is about. Cringe af

I really don't. I like to go in games blind so I purposely avoid stuff.

It's 'accurate' as in there's no modern day mental illness politics and other woke cancer getting in the way of the setting. It's Japanese vs Mongolians all the way through. Classic 'good vs evil' as it were.

There's no token black guy.
There's no token alphabet souper
There's no coin flip gender changer
None of that cancerous garbage.

But if you ask if it's historically accurate in the sense of 'can you tie events to actual history' then, no. None of the characters actually existed. Khotun Khan is completely fictional, Genghis Khan did not have a brother named Khotun.

The only thing that's realistic is the depiction of the island of Tsushima during that time period and the people. There are no personages that actually exist in history that appear in the game on either side. They took a setting, made an original cast for it and kept it as realistic as possible without stepping over any lines like Ubisoft.

That's this game in a nutshell.

tl;dr = swing sword, chop much hed, funs very.

People like you are a cancer on gaming. Keep your culture war garbage out of this community. This is a warning.
Holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cringe. You 13? "This is a warning." Lmfao, what are you going to do?

Although i fiercely oppose the right wing of this culture war, one needs to acknowledge that the left started it with it's self-imposed censorship ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. There is no other way than calling it censorship, it is what it is, and praising a game for not following it is okay.

Based on true events, but very twisted to suit a western view of samurai culture. That said, it ins't so bad, it's actually a very good game, just don't take it for LITERAL history lessons. There's no such thing in videogames or entertainment in general.

How did you come to that conclusion?, i feel this is as close to Feudal Japan as we're going to get in a game.

I've completed it twice and i experienced no western influence or bias while playing, unless you're talking about the dubs which hopefully nobody plays with anyway.

But i'd take the word of the Japanese professors who reviewed the game over yours.

He most likely wasn't a samurai (there is no historical evidence to suggest that he was), he was a real person though and from the few written accounts it sounds like he did participate in combat.

Can we just agree that a capable Black Warrior in 15XX Japan is theoretically possible, but that the game, it's story and historical feasability will nonetheless 100% be utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, because it is a UbiSoft game?

He was a real person but there's no actual proof that he was given the title of Samurai, most likely a romanticization of the character over time, still a cool concept though
More accurate than AC: Shadows probably.

The whole concept of honor is a mythification, not really invented by western, mind you, but
as a way for a japanese historian to explain the samurai by comparing them to european medieval knights. That's where the "honor" concept was kinda conceived and then it got used by japanese imperial government during WW2 as propaganda, elevating it out of proportion. That idea of honorable samurai stuck in western culture, expecially in movies, and thus making it more like a trope than a real thing. The honor in a Samurai resided in obeying their damiyo, in any way it bring them success. So dirty tricks wouldn't necessary be considered "dishonourable" if they helped the daimyo cause.

Arguing what is historically accurate in a historical fiction game is something else

Why? Kingdom Come is historical fiction and historically 100% feasable, and because of that it is a very compelling setting.
