Been awhile since I played but I would say the window is smaller than Sekiro but bigger than Souls games.
Nah, parrying in this game is more forgiving. Even more so with a specific charm. The trouble comes when multiple enemies attack you simultaneously, so try not to let them surround you. Observe the group of enemies, and imagine a circle around them and try to stay out of that circle. The camera will be your greatest enemy for the most part. So set your camera speed to fast.

With that said about parrying, it's easy to get caught off-guard by attacks in 1-on-1 duels. It still requires some concentration or focus on your part, but definitely not as frustrating as Sekiro.

Are you talking about parry or perfect parry? The parry has very loose timing but I'm pretty sure the perfect parry is harder than Sekiro and easier than Souls games.
I've only played this on Lethal mode. The parry window is quite small but can be slightly increased with a charm that you can find pretty much immediately after the open world section of the game starts. I personally love the mechanic, it's my main tactic in combat.
That said, it's not as intricate as Sekiro's parry, as the enemies don't have a posture bar that needs breaking. Rather, it's closer to the new God of War games where the perfect parry causes the enemies to stagger backwards giving you enough time to get a couple of crucial slashes in.

difference between parry and perfect parry is the slow-motion ?
both parries "deflect" the enemies attack with perfect parry giving you the special slow-mo damage window ?! :lunar2019deadpanpig:

does the game give you an option to disable the slowmo ? :lunar2019grinningpig:

if i wanted to just parry to avoid the slowmo effect -> do i press sooner or later ?

iv not played sekiro but i had a good painful time learning to parry most of millennia phase1 attacks in elden ring :lunar2019grinningpig:

Slow-mo is perfect parry. It increases your damage. For usual enemies it almost guaranteed kill. If you press early you'll just deflect. If you press later, you'll get hit.

Perfect parry gives you an extra health potion thingy. I personally don't mind the slo mo. Pulling a perfect parry in this is quite satisfying.

Normal block/parry and perfect parry are two very different animations, not just the slo mo. Don't think there's a way to turn off the effect, not sure why you'd want to. It looks really cool.

I don't like to slo mo in AC Valhalla but I like it in this.

+1, except there are 2 charms that can extend the perfect parry and dodge windows.
No, you played any sony funded games before? SpiderMan god of war, Its the same shtick, same skill tree layout/system with the diffrences largely just being the animations and presentations related to that game. Its not hard and the harder difficulties are artificial, you can however create your own challenge and fun, ghost of tushima in fairness, avoids the horrific dioluge generic extreme sleepo fest of recent playstation titles, it also has that charm like nocturnal something abit different which helps make it tolerable, Shut your brain off abit and you will likely enjoy it. But please do not expect a souls parry system is basic.

Even on the hardest difficulty it's quite easy to parry, I still love the game tho as a souls fan.
its a bit challenging at first, but once you get the groove down, perfect parrying will be a breeze.
Parrying will be a bit tricky when you first start out, but you'll very quickly figure it out. You can hold Block and try to parry the second or third hit of an enemy's string which makes it quite easy. Since holding block doesn't really get punished in any major way (very few things can guard-break you) that's a good way to ease yourself into parrying attacks. There's also a Charm you can immediately go grab once you get access to the open world map that widens the parry and perfect dodge timing windows a lot when equipped, in case you're worried.

In my opinion, about as easy as Assassin's Creed parrying, but not as easy as Batman Arkham series. I hate Sekiro parrying, but I got used to this pretty quick.
