Map icons not appearing
Hi all,

So I played GoT about 4 years ago and completed the main story; loved the game but never platinum'd. I've now decided to come back to the game to do so but quite understandably I've forgotten an awful lot.

The thing I'm having an issue with is cleaning up side quests in order to pop missing trophies. Even though they all state "completed" it does also say in the subtext - as an example - 8 out of 9 or 4 out of 5 etc. The problem is, whilst it appears there are other things to do, I can't seem to find any icons on the map (I've watched YT videos showing where the next bit of a particular quest should start - as an example - but when I go there, the icon isnt there nor can I find the start of the next part of the quest). It also doesn't give an option on the quest to track anything.

Is this is an issue because I've already completed the main story? Or should I be able to back and still do everything that I'm missing? If so, what am I doing wrong? How do I get the icons etc to appear?

Thanks.

The only thing you can do is to make note of all the relevant quests that are required for that particular achievement and then make note where all the locations of each quest. And you will have to manually locate those quests. There is no other way round. Call it a lack of design or poor design, whatever you want. As there won't be any support for the game now.

As you will need to get onto the online Legend mode to get all the achievements, I just have a few advises on that. Be patience unless you already have a team of 4 friends (including yourself of course) waiting to play Legend mode. There bound to be someone wanting to show off. As for myself, I don't know how to do cancel animation, i.e. those that can issue what seems like multiple katana attacks in very short time, I cannot kill as fast as they can. As a result, I tend to suffer from lack of kills. Hence, I couldn't gain the necessary upgrades for my weapons, charms, etc.. However, this only amounted to about 20% of my online sessions. But I still managed to amass a fair amount of essences, honors and ki. These are essential for your final stage of leveling up. By the way, it seems that there are plenty of Youtube videos showing how to do "cancel animation" attacks. So, you will most likely learn how to do it yourself. I still haven't manage to find any tuition of such for PC gamer.

Lastly, it is quicker to amass fair collection of essences, honors and ki by playing with others. On Discord, there is a fairly large Legend family. So, you may go there to arrange for a game.

Finally, if I may say so. It feels like that the story/campaign mode of Ghost is a training ground for the Legend mode. Legend mode can easily count itself as a separate game. It is fast, fun and very enjoyable, that is if you find helpful players to play with. From my experience, majority of players are very helpful. So, there you go. Good luck and have fun :)

Thanks for the reply. I thought that Legends was a/had its own separate requirements and wasn't part of the main game trophy requirements, or is that wrong sorry?

Also, just to clarify, from what you've said does it sound like then that I haven't actually completed those side mission story lines if it states 8 out of 9 or 4 out of 5 (for example) in the subtext?

Thanks.
You didn't mention which quest. However, I remember that some quests are not counted for achievements. But if you are like me, wanting to be 100% of 100%, then you may consider a 3rd party software called Steam Achievement Manager. I don't use it myself as it is 3rd party. You can use it to "cheat" and just complete the achievement list by clicking the relevant achievement. Or, you can use it to reset you entire achievement list, i.e. starting from "zero" as if you never complete the game. Oh, sorry, this software is only for PC... sorry...
Again, when I talk about Legend mode, for PC, on Steam, the achievement list included some 11 or 12 items that are from Legend mode. I don't know about console. Really sorry about that.
Back to your achievement issue, some of the quests are only available in the DLC, If I remember correctly, there is one called "the Good deeds" or something like that. Those quests are not marked on the map. And one of them will only appear when you wear the correct armour (hint: something to do with a famous samurai archer). Oh, when I said "it only appear..." I mean that it does not show on the map. But certain "button" will appear if you wear the correct armour when talking to a particular NPC. This may be the "4 of 5" one. Without starting the story mode in GOT, I cannot recall any quest that has 9 tasks. I am currently playing Legend mode, waiting for players to show up. So, I won't be starting the story mode. Sorry about that. But you can definitely google about that particular quest. It will show you what need to be done. Hope this help. Good luck and have fun :)
