Yep that's the one I'm referring too. It seemed a bit OP when I read the description but I'm glad I have it now.
The other trick the devs. use is the distance. Notice that for the soldiers, they are rather close to you. But for the captains and generals, and the Oni soldiers, they start their thrust (or rather, the blue light appear) much earlier. So, do you tap on the parry button earlier
(moment after the blue light appear) or before the tip of the spear arrives at your body. I tried both but failed. So, I tend to try perfect dodge their thrust attacks. I only attempt to perfect parry thrust attacks by the low ranking soldiers.
I arrive at this conclusion because I have found that it is easier to perfect parry captains' and general's sword attack.
for spear the posture ends up auto parrying it helps a lot
This was the only way I managed to beat the final boss
