How's the storyline and writing?
Hi, my mom's a gamer fresh off Red Dead Redemption 2, which she loved.

She's extremely attached to good side characters and storytelling and having the feeling of encountering fully fleshed people in the NPCs. Environmental storytelling alone isn't enough.

How does Ghost of Tsushima compare? It's been recommended to me as a follow up game for her, but I'd like to know how you guys feel about these aspects specifically before I get her on it.

Also, how forgiving are the fights and the easy mode?

(If it helps, she naively believe the RPG tag on Elder Ring and was bitterly disappointed)

The story is great, the characters are.. eh. They're definitely fully fleshed out, and have realistic motivations/feelings/etc, but whether or not they're actually interesting to you is another thing entirely. YMMV.

The gameplay is insanely easy on the lowest difficulty. Assassin's Creed-level easy.

Peak cinema.
Shouldn't be difficult on easy.

Story and side quests are a tragedy.

If you have an interest in Japanese culture especially this time period like myself. Then i think they did a great job and its worth a buy forsure.

once you get to know the mechanics it's a great game, but it can be tough learning everything in the beginning. it also can be a bit repetitious at times.
