Khotun Khan first time fight

I am really disappointed to learn that the first encounter with the Khan is unwinnable.

I have been practising my entire playthrough the get the mechanics down just so I can reload a particular save and go beat him once I got gud.

I'm still miles away, but that's not the point, I really thought this beautiful game had the spine to go there and do a Souls-Like, that kind of player reward is absolutely wonderful as a concept.
