- The Last of Us had Joel, a male character with a believable character arc and emotions, guiding and supporting the deuteragonist Ellie; in TLoU 2, Joel is killed off early on to get him out of the way and justify the switch to Ellie as the protag. It's practically a gender-swapped version of "fridging"[tvtropes.org].
- Uncharted was known for the charismatic and likeable Nathan Drake, but in the last game, he was replaced by female leads.
- Alan Wake was the protagonist of his own game, but in his sequel, he's mostly replaced by a black female SWAT officer.
- Star Wars games are mostly known for their male leads (Force Unleashed, Star Wars Jedi, etc.), but the most recent one, Outlaws, has a female lead.
- Subnautica had a male lead; Subnautica 2 has a female lead.
- Even Legend of Zelda isn't immune to this; almost every game features Link as the player stand-in, but for the first time in the series (discounting the non-canon Philips CDi games), Zelda's the lead in Echoes of Wisdom.
- Of course, there's Ghost of Tsushima, which has the amazing Jin Sakai, except Yotei's going with a woman, like almost everything else these days.
That's not an exhaustive list by any means, but it's sizeable enough that the tiresome and rather bigoted trend cannot be ignored or dismissed as "coincidence".
waw first time ever a game where you can play Zelda for the first time now is hated for that hoopie woopie. this is some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i even readed honestly i find it weird why jin is replaced by a other character but comparing Subnautica that now ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
subnautica 1 whas a guy that crash land on a alien planet and survived in subnautica 2 you are not that guy becouse there no reason for that guy to be in there he lefted the planet. plus your on a other planet kind of too working for a corperation and not as a crash landed person so who give a ♥♥♥♥ that subnautica 2 is female for that reason.
i do agree some characters are replaced by females in weird way i even dont like starwars for that reason of how stupit they bring in the characters and this comes from a female mind you.
but i dont think a female character is a bad thing for Ghost 2 maybe the game will explain what happend to Jin i dont know but if its written good inof then it makes more sence but just buy saying there a female in this game this is bad is just stupit that like saying in 40k females dont exsist in 40k while sisters of battle eldar and other race kind got females in them.
only part i do hate is when people demand stuff and change the Lore of a game for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like that.
Yeah I have already assumed I won't be getting this game, any whiff of DEI and I just bail. I figure eventually all the people pushing this stuff will get fired because the larger companies will just all go bankrupt. We will be left with a ton of indie developers kicking off a golden age of gaming.
If the time skip's removed, as it originally wasn't going to be a thing, then we could have kept Jin. He wouldn't have been long dead, if the initial concept was retained.
" - I'l ignore this is all speculative rumour by a Youtuber in any case" you talk/behave like a flat-earther. when someone present you with some science you just block your ears and go: '- La-la-la' like a whiny baby. it is honestly ridiculous... hahahahahha!
It would have been an amazing sequel! so much potential....
So clearly the claims are BS.
Also you saying that Endymion's journalist investigations are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shows that you will only accept the 'answers' that suit your bubble and are not willing to break your preconceived mold.
