Legends is the multiplayer
You left out reading OP's post.
Correct. They also couldn't care less about you being able to play the game and any Sony games going forward in an unsupported region.
Okay, I can understand some of the outrage about the countries but this one... isn't fair to pin on Sony or any developer. Steam Deck runs on Linux. Technically, almost no game by almost any developer is officially supported on Linux so any complaints when you can't play a game there, it is blocked, DRM doesn't work on it, or any other technical / problems can't be pushed on the developer. This is especially so when they have a lot of code, quite possibly spaghettified just to make it work without substantial effort, tied in that makes modifying it to run even just the single player potentially not ideal.
Blame Linux nearly non-existent gaming install base of users, instead. Some devs are nice enough to go the extra mile to smooth support out even slightly but most don't because it is statistically financially not worth the effort. Linux/Steam deck gamers are essentially a grain of sand in a vast desert.
It is unfortunate but it is a reasonable reality. Blame Valve for using Linux, instead.
Fortunately, they have actually announced the Steam Deck will, indeed, allow you to play the single player portion https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/ghost-of-tsushima-steam-deck-unsupported
From Nixxes Twitter/X post:
This was already debunked by Valve... they said it was Sony's choice.
In some other games which doesnt work on the deck, at least I have the option to use geforce now ultimate, but Sony doesn't want to bring their games there neither.
If they dont want my money and the money from a lot of users, they will see.
I think they are starting to settle themselves in a complicated position with the love of the steam users, such as for example Ubisoft.
Maybe it won't impact the sales of their games right now, but we will see in a few months/years.
Nintendo will hunt you now :D.
