ps5 controller or no matter
Is it worth playing the game with a PS5 controller?
I only have an Xbox controller.
Thinking about getting an extra one.
Birthday coming up...

Yes, it comes with adaptive trigger as well as haptic feedback.

If you have sensitive almost fragile hands then ps5 controller for sure, if not any controller will do.

Of course this will be worth playing using the DS4 or DualSense. The game WAS a Sony exclusive, after all, and it uses the touchpad for some functions. However, try it out with your XBOX controller first. If you're happy enough with it, then there's no need for a DSense. But if you're getting an extra controller anyway on your upcoming birthday, the DSense is not a bad choice, since it's fully supported on Steam. Though if you plan on playing non-Steam games with it, you will need a software called DS4Windows.

PS5 controller is also useful for emulation since you can use the Gyro for Switch motion controls. I used to use Xbox controllers almost exclusively but I've had REALLY bad luck with the Elite controllers so now I just use my scuf PS5 for everything

I used to play on PS4 and PC and the DS4 wasn't always recognized. Now only PC. But in the game, the layout of the Xbox controller was then displayed, press B instead of circle and that led me to reach for the Xbox controller.

Btw: I also have smaller hands. The DS5 is supposed to be a bit bigger.

But the functions with the addatpive triggers sound interesting. And the DS5 is recognized correctly by Steam and most games.

I'll probably give it a try.

Thank you.
I bought one just a few days ago. comparing it both to having used XBOX controllers & switch controllers on pc. it's a really nice controller and the haptic feedback and triggers are a cool feature on other games that the others don't have.

They are 70 dollars so you gotta ask yourself; is having an extra controller with new features something i wanna spend that money on or not?

furthermore having used a switch controller which also offers Gyro. this one also works great for that and doesn't have the annoying pairing difficulties that the switch pro controller has on PC.

Personally im going with my xbox controller, its just easier with the BT dongle.

Every time i try using my ps5 controller I either have to use it plugged in or with the standard BT, and the BT is too laggy imo. Its too much of a hassle and not convenient.. Sony should consider making a PC dongle as well for their devices now that they are going the PC route.

An advantage of the Dualsense and also the Dualshock is the gyroscope.
I use "DS4Windows" with different profiles.
Example: For shooter i´ve additionally assigned [L1] to activate the gyroscope as long as the button is held down. You then don't aim with the stick but with the entire controller itself.
It's even more precise than with the mouse.

Yeah, you need DS4Windows to play non-Steam games with a DS4. And the button layouts are game-dependent. Some games like Yakuza 0 have PS layout support. Some just don't.

Anyway, sure dude. Enjoy the game!

You don’t need it. Steam recognises DS4 input
I was referring to non-Steam games.

It depends on whether lighting, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback is worth the price for you. You will also need to go wired if you want to take full advantage of these features. But I have to say that the wired part hasn’t really bothered me and is well worth it for the improvement to the overall feel.

This would be more game dependent then, because I can certainly play non-steam games with a DS4 without using DS4Windows.
I guess. In my case, most of the buttons just have no functionality. Maybe it's also OS dependent? I'm still using Win10, after all.

It's overpriced and malfunctioning... I had 3 Dualshock PADs, and ALL were many times in service because of malfunctioning analogues! DualSense is same garbage just more expensive... Now I am using cheap (25$) ESMX...

Xbox / Nintendo / PS don´t matter -> 90+% of all controllers use the thumbsticks from Alps Alpine with potentiometer.
Best solution against occuring stickdrift is using a controller with hall effect sensors instead of a potentiometer.
