Also it would be nice if they add a sony launcher and obviously enforce PSN account and login (always online drm).
Please Sony!!! playerbase doesn't mind some extra telemetry as well
what year do you people think it is?
They are part of Denuvo before and sold it to Irdeto. They are too prideful to admit their mistakes and wont ever use Denuvo even if they lose money through piracy.
They also tricked the Helldivers 2 community with that fake apology. Instead they are now showing those who protest that Sony is willing to lose money and wont sell to those that opposed them. After the heat cools down, they will implement it later and probably no backlash then.
We also know that those inside their circle won't care that much if other countries are region locked and won't protest as much.
I agree about sony, I watched them get worse starting after the PS2. At least I could run emulators & ROM's
Oh, and statistical analysis has shown the piracy of games actually boosts sales in most cases, in the end. Ppl either wouldn't/couldn't buy it, or like it after trying a hacked copy and then they go buy it. At least that's what I often do, cause I need more then 2 hours to get a sense of a game
It's always amusing when people threaten to pirate something and feel smart about it.
You can´t buy it = 0 profit
You are not interested in buying it = 0 profit
You pirate it = 0 profit
Your torrent got monitored = a lot of profit
I have to expand on your 3rd bullet point, which is if ppl pirate and like it, many buy the game. It's been shown statistically to improve sales. For me, at least w/ single play I'll often torrent w/ VPN b4 I buy.
Only a few do so but i can agree to some point.
If the VPN software has security flaws and vulnerabilities, any other third party can use them to “break into” the VPN.
Not everything that looks safe is. Every lock has a key or you can simply use a lockpick.
I get many ppl pirating games never buy them, but I try and support dev's/studio's who's games I like and values I respect, like Ghost Ship Games that did Deep Rock Galactic. The only paid stuff is totally cosmetic, just an option to support the dev's and even when they drop it eventually (as all games eventually are), it's got peer to peer hosting so, like, zombie game, walking dead? It's co-op shooter w/ mods and also free with an Xbox live sub if you wanna play with friends who aren't lucky enough to roll a gaming rig, although due to the style its pretty easy for even older systems to run. Every new season, 5th is about out, since 1.0 has added meaningful content like missions and weps, all FREE. Best value for money ever!
Oh, and I research my VPN choice very carefully, no records.
deep rock galactic deservers all the moneys, big anti-consumer corpo like Sony, Microsoft, EA or Ubisoft absolutely NOT
microsoft killed multiple studios not long ago, EA is the most disgusting publisher among Ubisfot, they want to push ads ingame and remove previously purchased games from people's libraries.
support small devs, small publishers and indies.
No, I agree with the vast majority of ur points, totally cool. I know there are VPN companies that DO store traffic records which the filth(popo) can get, it's why I use protonmail which is super privacy focused and pretty cheap matching allot of the big players for VPN quality. It's great for email (FREE) mainly if you don't want google reading ur every message. HEAVY encryption!
