map checkpoint burnout is real, I had this game for years on PS and never finished because it gets too repetitive.
It's fine if you don't do side content though. Combat is fun, especially duels with mini-bosses.
So what is it "yes" to? Those questions contradict each other. Is it yes it's just like a Ubisoft open world game or is it yes to it being different from Ubisoft games?
IS the open world formula a lot like Ubisoft's way of doing it?
edit: Seems post above me answers it.
ubi games are boring whether they have steam achievements or not
actually i fell asleep many times, The environment was awesome, and there are only 4 enemy archtypes, swordmen shields, spears and brutes, thats it, the only difference is how they looked like mongols and robbers and so on, the actual story was decent the rest of the sidestories was a huge snoozefest. You literally spend most of your time riding across from one point to another on your horse more than anything and the environment itself has no secret to discover and mostly very unengaging.
It gets boring pretty quick since you do the same thing over and over like an ubisoft game with those 4 architype as you travel the land. Again this was when the game came out on the PS when but I gritted hard to finish it because I wanted to get to the end and was kinda meh. At least the combat is fun though, until you do it about maybe 200+ times lol. Played it on the hardest difficulty also.
Elden Ring was way more fun and challenging.
Never played AC, but i can say that GoT is good.
