Official specs:
Minimum requirements: SSD recommended
Recommended specs: SSD Required.
It all comes down if you have a potato pc and can't play on higher settings or if you have a decent rig to play with higher settings.
Avatar on ubisoft however Requires an SSD for the game to function as it should.
It would be quite easy to do a simple research on this like going to the store page and read what the specs says.
I also told you with a simple quick research by going to the store page the official specs says: SSD Recommended for minimum specs and Required for recommended specs.
I never once said it's required overall.
If your reading comprehension problem didn't see that i agreed with you, i'll just tell you to read what i wrote one more time.
And not having SSD's in games where it says recommended usually have reduced performance, stuttering and other similar issues in areas where it won't happen having said SSD compare to not having it. Which isn't always the case but "could" happen.
And i said that is possible, but it's not a guarantee that you will.
There have been previous games that said "ssd recommended" but have played just fine on a regular HDD, it all comes down which type of HDD it is though, if it's a really old model with lower RPM then it will probably not work as it should but if it is one of the newer ones that had higher RPM then it would probably not be a problem.
Some games also have mods like Avatar so the game atleast does work on HDD even though it has it's drawbacks.
We'll just have to wait and see how it performs in 3 more days so there's really no need for speculations on this, just try it and see how it turns out.
So HDDs are straight up just not fast enough for modern game's and there's less and less game's being made for HDDs in mind since SDDs have been dropping in prices to be very affordable.
Just wait for next gen console when nobody will be making any game with HDDs in mind.
Sure it may not be a requirement but it's a requirement for optimal gameplay in almost every modern game fr years now.
So it's straight up just get with the time's and upgrade you don't have to replace the HDD just use it for mass storage and get a cheap SSD for like $25-$50 for a 1TB and use that for game's a SSD is straight up the biggest and cheapest upgrade you can buy for a PC.
And yes, loading times IS performance. The difference in speed is night and day. Considering SSDs are dirt cheap these days, I have no idea why anyone would insist on using a HDD when an SSD cuts down loading times by 50-90%
