Is it absurd comparing being vulnerable to being vulnerable, okay then whatever you say champ.
In addition, if you don't have different credentials for both accounts and not secured with MFA, the problem sits in front of the computer and the service provider is not at fault.
The absolute state of fanboys.
Sony has been hacked yea, stealing data about projects and whatnot, actual PSN regarding accounts and whatever have not been breached since 2011.
Fact check.
I'll try to explain. When you buy Xbox games on PC, you have an option to link your Steam account to Xbox account if you wish. I have done this for example, because I already have Game Pass , so why not? It's optional and I could play the games on Steam without them if I wanted.
Now PSN and Sony are another thing. They sold Helldivers 2 with the perception that account linking is optional, then, after a few months of people buying and playing the game, they announced that after the latest update PSN account would be mandatory if people wanted to continue playing the game they have bought and played without any issues for the past couple of months. Surely you can see how this would incense players?
Customers were sold something under false pretenses.
There is one added complication in all of this. PSN is not as widely available as Steam or even Xbox Game Pass. So many people who have actually bought Helldivers 2 couldn't make a PSN account to use because they live in the "wrong" country. Sony devised a "solution". Simply block all the people in those "wrong" countries from buying their games. And no, contrary to what some ignorant people are saying, these are not all 3rd world countries with low purchasing power, but even Europen countries like the Baltics and Western Balkans. They even placed Japan on this list. Go figure.
When Microsoft started porting their console games to Steam and PC, they made something called PC Game Pass for all the countries where Steam is supported. In essence, even if you couldn't buy Xbox console and get XBox Game Pass somewhere, you could buy PC Game Pass and install those games through Xbox app on your PC.
When Sony decided to expand to PC, they could have and should have done the same as Microsoft, and extended PSN to all those countries. Instead they decided to discriminate against their players by deciding who can buy the game based on where they live and by false advertising the game they are selling in the case of Helldivers 2.
I hope I have managed to explain the situation as I understand it to be.

Nobody complains there.
They only complains when it suits them and their need.
Can you back this up with some actual data or references though.
I keep hearing this argument about the data breach which is valid (although many of them were of Sony Pictures employee data which isn't the same as your PSN account data) and people are deliberately being ignorant of this to try and prove a point.
The part about the shareholders getting a bigger bonus though lol..... give me some actual data here or you are just making it up / pulling some nonsense you read on reddit from one of the many armchair CEO's on there out of your butt.
people will always find something to complain about, if you have the possibility to get the game on steam, go for it single player does not require PSN and Multiplayer does, do with it what you will. just ignore the drama and enjoy the game

Oh i will!
I have it pre-ordered already.
I was more just genuinely curious as to the concerns. There is ALOT of intentinal outrage and negativity with all games on steam these days but i wanted to find out if there was some valid concerns here.
While i don't agree with the concerns i can at least now understand some of them better and appreciate where some of those who are reactive about the PSN account linking are coming from and understand why they are worried or upset better.
I have this game pre-ordered so I am going to buy it. But to act like Sony isn't completely anti consumer on PC would be dishonest, and I don't think I will buy any more Sony games on PC if they are going to be this anti consumer. I've bought most of them with the exception of the new horizon, I think I got every other game they put on steam. But I do not want to normalize a practice of putting a game on steam where it can't be played by so many PC gamers. It hurts PC gaming, I think.
