Learn how to correctly pronounce Tsushima
I listened to far too many Western gaming “journalists” mispronounce Tsushima. No reason you should be as ignorant as they are.

The correct way to pronounce it is Sushi-Mah, and NOT Sue-SHEE-Mah, which is the way they’ve been mispronouncing it for years.

Not saying you're wrong, however giving initial credit to mainstream journalists may have been your first mistake.

If a journalist can't be bothered to be fluent in their native tongue, and dialect, in which they're providing news sources to the masses, the general populace is under no obligation to take them seriously.

Is the source actually saying how to pronounce it? or are you interpreting that by how he says it in conversation?

Also not accurate. The T is not silent. It's "Tsu shima" with the emphasis on the "tsu" and the "ma". You're closer than they are, but not fully correct.

Why?

The developer and publish can't be bothered to learn how to correctly release a game on PC but I should learn how to pronounce the name of some random game?

Valid point, but forcing people to learn proper grammar for a language they aren't going to use routinely doesn't always work out favorably. I only stepped in to correct OP because he's trying to nitpick other people while also not being entirely correct.

Also well aware neither of you are replying to me, but figured I'd share further thoughts since I'm already in the discussion.

So are many countries I forget exist until the Olympics rolls around every 4 years, many of which don't have access to PSN. I'm not going learn to pronounce their names either. Its useless information.

Technically, they're every two years, and alternate seasons.

I suppose, but some of those countries only show up every 4 year. When Saint Kitts and Nevis sends an athlete to the winter Olympics I'll remember they are a country every 2 years

Yes you should. Try again.

It's more like [tsuˈʃimə]
Some journalists may not pronounce Tsushima correctly because not everyone is native Japanese speaker.
