Some truth.
let's be honest considering how much Sony get's hacked and data is stolen you could have your very own game award shows about it. I do not blame people who do not want to give Sony data when they can't even protect there own employees because of server breaches

April 2011: Hackers Access Personal Data of 77 Million Sony PlayStation Network Users
May 2011: Personal Details on 25 Million Sony Online Entertainment Customers Stolen
June 2011: Sony Pictures Website Hacked, Exposing One Million Accounts
November 2014: Hackers Steal 100 Terabytes of Data from Sony Pictures
August 2017: Hacker Group Accesses Sony Social Media Accounts
September 2023: Sony Investigates Alleged Hack
October 2023: Sony Notifies Employees of Data Breach

"PlayStation Network is unavailable in more countries than it is available in. A total of 118 countries are unsupported. This list includes some major markets like Pakistan, Bangladesh, some East European countries, almost the entirety of Africa, and most Central American countries."

And this isn't even all of the breaches they have had this is only a few. At least on a basic level Microsoft makes ♥♥♥♥ a hell of a lot more difficult and is known for seriously protecting user data. They learned about that after Games for Windows live issues and breaches.

People have the right to complain and have the right to get refunds. Regardless if people like it or not.

And considering what happened to Helldivers 2 do not be shocked if Sony decide not to enforce PSN. Plus let's be honest Sony have lost in court quite a few times over breaching consumer rights.

Just gonna leave some sense(it's not common anymore) for the anti-psn account guys real quick since they seem to be more heavily focused on PC anyways. If you ever played a blizzard game like Diablo 2 or newer, you have a 3rd party account with Blizzard. Same thing with EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Epic Games store, GOG, etc.... For people that have a ridiculous amount of 3rd party accounts to do literally any damned thing on PC, you're sure throwing a hell of a fit about another account that doesn't want credit card info. I 100 percent agree with the linking being optional argument all day long but what linking the account in HD2 showed me was that it was easier to find my console peasant friends than the friend code system that is used without the account being linked.

You say all this, but yet my only actual problem with PSN is the fact it gets hacked a ♥♥♥♥ ton. If I can create some bs psn account with a new email i dont care for, then hell im all for psn. It's the fact it's a big ass company that can't seem to protect its community from their data being stolen...

It's not crying. It's called very basic common sense. If you can not be constructive in a discussion then your opinion doesn't mean much.

Some more truth :

Arrowhead choosed a very invasive anticheat solution for Helldivers II.
You have a south korean rootkit running along your game.

For me it's not a big deal because I own psn accounts, which were probably leaked a lot of times.
Does anyone know what info they will get from Steam if I link my account?

It depends on a lot of different factors. And Laws depending where you live etc

They haven't had a serious hack since like 2011, and honestly if you're corny enough to use sony social media or sony pictures you deserve to get hacked tbh.

Well, I'll probably wait and see what data sony wants. Thanks

PSN account since 2005 - Nothing happened.
The PSN login is needed only for the overlay and Legends addon.
The maingame + Ikki DLC are singleplay - No login needed there.

You really should be more concerned about Game Guard. Not a single word about that so far. :D

I don't think you quite understand how large of a megacorporation Sony really is.

Sony literally has HUNDREDS of subsidiaries and divisions ranging from electronics, movies, music, and gaming. Every single one of the companies owned by Sony employ different security frameworks and abide by different security standards depending on its industry.

Using your own timeline of Sony security breaches, how do you rationalise that Sony Pictures has anything to do with Sony Interactive Entertainment, the subsidiary that manages PSN?

You might as well list the number of security breaches that took place across the entire globe, because that's exactly how stretched Sony's companies and its servers are.

Yeah, Sony PSN, Sony Online Entertainment, Sony Pictures and the Sony Media Accounts are all on the same server and are all the same legal entity .... although they are under the overall Sony umbrella, they are all different organizations with different server and network infrastructure and different people who tend them.

Before you do copypasta you should read it first and think about, how much of that is true and how much of that is unrelated stuff cobbled together for blackmail.

For your statements you should be more specific, saying the sky is blue is on the same level.

If you want to make such statements, be more specific and back it up from where you have that, or it's just spreading fear, uncertainity, doubt and trying to blackmail other people and organizations.
