Well you see there's a sad back story. Jin had a twin sister also named Jin, but was tossed away because it would bring shame to the family. They only needed a male to become a heir. The twin was also born with white hair, which was the reason for the shame and the family elder believed she would bring misfortune to the family. So all records and witnesses that couldn't be trusted were either killed or made unable to speak of it.

Works because Jin is a neutral name XD.

Sure, one that throws away his code and his honor to fight in a way no self-respecting Samurai would dare. You're not even given a choice. The game makes you do it for "plot".

Its a good game, sure, but even the historical farce of Samurai Warriors understands what we expect from a Samurai game: legendary warriors and equally legendary battles, castle sieges, heroism and honor.

Jin may have been a Samurai, but he gave that up to-do exactly what Ninja are known for: strike from the shadows with unsavory and dishonorable tactics.

It's totally a ninja game.

Samurais are also commoners in kind of way.
Iga, Koga, Samurai which uses Ninja assets, murdering from behind using even poison stealth techniques of the banshenshukai.
