Hi, there, I am not saying that you are wrong. But after spending over 3,300 hrs in Sekiro, I am sure that the window for executing a perfect parry in Ghost of Tsushima is different from that of Sekiro. And I died quite a lot of time, swearing when nothing happened after I pressed the parry key (I am playing on PC with K & M). The way I see it is that because there is NO target lock when using K & M, when dodging, even perfectly, Jin ends up not facing directly at the enemy he is fighting. My parry command will be totally ignored. This is what I think in a duel. Ironically, or frustratingly, when fighting a group, Jin, or I can perfect parry someone attacking from behind!!!!! Other "experts can correct me if I am wrong.
Ok, at the back of my mind, I do have the notion that could it be the way the Dev. missing something intentionally or unintentionally when they "transcribed" the game over to PC? I say this because there seems to be not much or no complaint from the console players about parry command being ignored.
Also, the window for perfect parry seems to change from Act 1, to Act 2, then Act 3, and then the DLC, Iki Island which is even smaller (I mean the window for pressing the parry button correctly).
I had the same feeling in my lethal playthrough with plenty of the bosses
