GPU demands vs actual graphics
The recommended specs are way above average than most games, but looking at the screenshots and the trailer I just can't see how that translates. Textures look average as do the shadows and the lighting just seems off. I'm still getting the game of course as I've heard great reviews for it and graphics are obviously not everything. (still looks great) Just struggling to see where the area of demand is.

rtx 2060 requirement for a ps4 game on pc. funny.
ill still get it but those are hyperinflated specs for sure

I find the specs reasonable. Screenshots could be from the PS version.

Have to assume RT or DLSS/FSR for the recommended

I expect the spec to be identical to Horizon Forbidden West. Same engine and level of detail after all.

HFW is higher for both min and recommended specs

Makes it a good gauge then. If you can max out HFW, then you're gold here.

I think its pretty funny that people running 6-8 year old GPU's are in for a huge surprise. Try and have more realistic expectations. New games are designed around newer hardware, not dusty 10 and 20 series cards. We are on the cusp of 50 series afterall

Hum... i will just share to you some of screenshots i did with the PS5 version of the game.

And tell me again "Textures look average as do the shadows and the lighting just seems off."

Tsushima is visually gorgeous, "but" the game don't want to achieve a photoreallistic render, the main shader used on everything is pretty cartonnist (very soft toon shader) but the lights are fu***ing impressive.

He only has a point with textures when you really get up and close with certain things. You'll be able to spot it. However, shadows, lightning and just creative artwork direction hides a lot of it and the game looks beautiful as a result.

Well, even so, with the fact that Ghost of Tsushima is not a realistic styled game. I'm assuming that the game should run decently well on older GPU's. I have an RTX 2080 and 6 years ago, that was a top of the line GPU. Even still it should run the game relatively well. And for those who are concerned. Even running at Medium settings, or mixing your settings you should easily hit 60 fps without too many frame drops. This game doesn't even use high resolution Textures most of the time. So, lowering your texture resolution settings will be the way to go, as that will be the main resource hog for most modern games.

They're not the same engine. Suckerpunch use their own proprietary engine and Guerrilla use Decima.
