Why do console players hate PC players ?

As a PC player I am always happy when a game opens up for more people. For example lately a PC and xbox exclusive game Sea of Thieves opened it's doors for PS players, I was genuinely happy to see more players hop in in my favorite game. However each time a console exclusive game comes to PC there are always those people quite unhappy about it. I don't get it, why are you guys salty about it ?

They envy the fact that we have modding support, better hardware, customization, free online, good deals. as a former console player, never again looking back. pc every day.

There is games that have or had modding/custom maps on console.

It is tribalism, and you are actively partaking..

If you choose to label yourself as a Pc gamer, and label others as console gamers, you are stereotyping people based on the platforms they play games on...

Just be a person who enjoys games, avoid clinging to a label... And you wont notice things like that...

what is beyond me is this. I am totally unable to understand what does it hurt a player from ps4 or ps5 to see someone else playing on another platform....i mean they are playing the game for few years now and even if it was released on pc back then when it was released to playstation what would it hurt ps player? To all ps people that hate sony or pc players or whatever , you are playing on a console that cost 400, 500 euros for like 2-3 years now? i payed 1500 for pc few years ago and i can't play the game on max settings. I am just glad that i can play it even on lower settings....

no one playing games on consoles is acting this way, it is a fantasy... Some console fanboys, may hate on other consoles, but, nobody using consoles is upset with games coming to other platforms.

because they pay more for the games. At least on my currency. And also because it was a big choice to make while I was young: nintendo64 for pokemon or PS for digimon. This rivalry marked generations

Because they sunk $500+ into their proprietary boxes and games coming out on other platforms invalidates that purchase. PCs are conceptually better. Console-buyers are making a leap of faith that they'll get great console-exclusive games for the money they sink on the platform, especially because that platform has no other utility besides playing games. The ecosystem is quickly becoming one where consoles like the PS5 just doesn't have a place anymore and they know it, but they dropped the 500 anyway.

No it does not invalidate anything. You get a lot for the investment into a console, a lot more than just games. Having a console is still more affordable than pc gaming. A $500 pc, is a potato next to a modern console.

Console developers are not putting out enough games. That is why some console gamers are frustrated.

The only value a console has is the exclusive games. Once your exclusive games go to other platforms, the perceived value is lessened. I don't think console players hate PC gamers, I think they are upset at seeing the perceived value of their console drop. All they are left with is a worse off performing game, which they have to pay additional fees such as PSN or XBL to play online. At some point, they'll get frustrated enough that they simply build or buy a prebuilt PC. The thing which is likely stopping them is these PC guys who boast about having the latest and greatest tech, thus making console players think they have to spend thousands for a top rate GPU and CPU as its 4k @ 60 FPS or nothing. Especially when you also have console manufacturers pushing 4k on their box. They don't fully know the greatness of 1440p 120+ or ultrawide aspect ratios yet.
