Yep... I just hope Sony releases GOW Ragnarok before they abandon the PC platform all together. We just cant have good things.

At the end of the day these are Sony Exclusives, they dont have to give them to us at all.

I sure hope so. As this is what is stopping me from buying the game as they even delisted it in Estonia. Thank you, Sony :) !

As a sensible adult, I will not review bomb, I will not get angry, I will not troll the forums like a child having a tantrum.

But I will say that the PSN requirement makes it a NO BUY. Nothing wrong with game but I'm getting really pissed off at all these game accounts I need to create be able to play games I buy on Steam.

There is no PSN requirement, it's optional unless you want to play the stupid multiplayer portion of a single player game.

I mean, the vibe I am getting here is that there are a lot of unhappy people with Sony. I understand their point of view, I think they may be going a little overboard, as this game did advertise a steam overlay or something when they first had the trailer. This isn't like Helldivers, and PSN is optional for the co op.

I feel bad for the devs here. I haven't played this game, I've heard great things about it, and the devs are having an opportunity to have more people play it, but Sony is handicapping that reach because they want to use the games they bring on PC to inflate their PSN numbers. That is why, if you link a PSN account to steam, they will give you in game items for this game, and it's my only guess why they removed it from countries without PSN.

I just don't think we should take it out on the devs when the PSN is optional for on-line co op, and they have no say over Sony.

how can people review bomb it if they cannot buy it, use your damn head.

Only selfish individuals preorder after this scandal and those are the same who review bomb in Sony's favor.

I predict a positive review score here, but a very different one outside Steam.

Someone who still doesn't get it, it's not optional if it locks you out of your purchase entirely.

Be interesting if the reasons for your country is due to Sony not agreeing to your country's legal requirements for selling there, or due to bad consumer and legal frameworks or even corruption.

If the vast majority of people review bomb the game, meaning those who purchased the game, then their view reflects the majority of the user base.

Helldivers 2 had more sales on PC than Playstation. Sony has obviously worked out how lucrative the PC games platform is for their games, but didn't realise that they cannot control the platform in the way they can when its their hardware and interface.

I don't think they can simply afford to ignore millions of dollars because they are seeking to grow their marketing database from their PSN user network. They could simplify it for PC and just add a screen at the initial login that asks what your username is and an email and then send a confirmation code to that email you enter and its done. They have details to market their products.

But its likely more than just that. There is no evidence to suggest that PSN linking would help with cheats which are very much a PC platform issue, and using this to ban users. There is obviously a lot more work to put in from Sony to get it right. They should have thought about it from the start. Ubisoft, EA and Microsoft all use their own platforms even if you buy their product on steam so it isn't anything new.

Maybe Sony need to have their own PS store for PC like steam and just cut out the middle man. You log in like EA or Ubisoft, buy games directly, launch from there, and then they wont have these issues. My issue with that is PS has a notoriously bad refund policy on PS and steam has the best refund policy.

I really wanted to buy this game and I already own it on PS5 but I am going to wait to see how this all pans out.

All this aside. This is an absolute masterpiece of a game and if you could care a less about PSN linking you should buy this game, if it is a good port. Again maybe wait for the reviews. A few PS games have had bad ports, I hope this one is as amazing on PC as it is on PS.

Have fun!

I don't give a ♥♥♥♥. As long as they don't go full GFWL then it's a minor issue that takes TWO minutes to rectify. If you live in a country without access to PSN, sucks to be you; thats just how life is and Sony will have to take the potential financial hit.

That isn't why Helldivers 2 got review bombed -_-
Man... I love how people hear half of a story, and then run with it like it's fact without doing any of the research required.

If you'd researched the original story, you'd have the answer already.

The issue was enforcement, the solo difficulty change, and then wanting to pull Helldivers 2 from Steam.

It had nothing to do with the PSN itself.
People on Steam use Ubisoft Connect and the EPIC Launcher all the time when playing Steam games.
The Activision/Blizzard launcher, too.

Use Google instead of using this Discussion to side-eye a game you've never played.

I personally don't mind as much as this is an AWESOME game. I hate the fact that games are exclusive to certain platforms AT ALL, so seeing a game as good as this move to PC -- in any sense -- is great.

I do wish the stupid DRM was removed but it's sadly the price we have to pay with how gaming is nowadays. Something you buy isn't actually owned anymore... that's true for almost all games.

This right here, everybody wants you to have a subscription these days. Even grocery stores want you to monthly subscribed to your groceries. It's getting ridiculous and annoying. I want to pay for my product and that to be the end of my interaction with the seller. I don't want you to have my phone, or email, or give you monthly fees. I just want my d*mn game and never hear from you again until I DECIDE to buy your next game. Is this too much to ask?
