just dodge and attack.

dodge = press O only once not 2 which is turn into roll & step to the side not step back.

You can jump over the leg sweep and get a free drop attack.

Just parry early and you'll miss the perfect parry but never take a hit that way

You can dodge towards any "unblockable" attacks also, rather than away or to the side. It works really well against spears. I can't wait to parry those mfs though.
