Change stance button
I'm using an xbox usb controller plugged into my PC to play, and using steam to remap the buttons.

I have remapped my "Dash" to left trigger, and "Quick Attack" to right trigger

Everything was fine until... I learned the ability to switch to "Water Stance"

Now each time I use my left trigger, it tries to change stance, and my gameplay is completely borked

I have no idea how to remap the stance changing buttons to something else

Any help??.

EDIT, SOLUTION: For those that arrive at the same problem, don't mind the gaslighting clowns in the chat below. I think they are so mind-phlucked by their twanny indoctrination camps they start uttering absolute nonsense

Anyway, to get this to work, you want to still use steam input. Then go into big picture mode, settings, controller, then hit "Begin Test", then you want to remap all of your buttons. All your buttons should stay the same, EXCEPT when the trigger buttons come up, select a DIFFERENT button for each trigger. I used X for left trigger, and Y for right trigger.

Then, when you remap your buttons for the game, map the actions you want to use with the triggers to X and Y. In my case, Dash is mapped to X, and Quick Attack to Y. Now in game, I can happily hit the left trigger to Dash, and the right trigger to Quick Attack, without the annoying change stance options coming up! I can use X and Y to change stances much more intuitively.

I'm glad I'm smart, if I was a dumbshiit like most of you, I'd be stuck with dumbshiit controls.

The game natively supports the controller you are using, so first of all, I would disable Steam input, then in the controller configuration menu, I would select an official profile; after that, once the game has been started, from the controller tab, I re-set the keys according to my taste...

What do you mean "re-set the keys according to my taste"? It seems that with steam input disabled, I have to select from 4 preset control schemes in game, and there seems to be no way in game to remap the buttons

I mean, you changed an important input in a console port. Did you expect it would go smoothly? lol

Oh I live in a reality where, if you're going to make a massive game like this, you should at least allow the player to customize their button mappings without breaking the entire game

Thanks for your genius 2 cents though, on the subject of expectation, I do not expect you to contribute anything meaningful to this conversation

games are made by humans
humans are very flawed creatures
even though some humans want to believe otherwise

Another genius, trying to gaslight me, into thinking that, my expectation to be able to remap buttons in an expensive game, is somehow unreasonable

you think you are the only one living in such a reality ?

there are enough pc games out there that dont allow you to remap all actions or keys / buttons
some games even limit you to only a certain set of buttons and everything else is locked

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

maybe try looking into the game dev process and peoples tasks that caused the issue would make for some interesting research
that way you can properly find the reason why this issue exists

wouldnt it be good if you knew why this issue exists ?
wouldnt it be good if you knew who to blame ?

You're entitled and opinionated. They shouldn't have to. There was no need to change the controls.

Entitled? Because I want to remap my buttons? The twanny indoctrination camp has really done a number on your little brain hasn't it?

I solved my own problem, it's a clumsy workaround but it works. You're just a phlucking hopeless clown who could never help anyone with anything technical, and so you come up with excuses as to why you're so useless
