Iki, ASAP or wait ?
every thread i read its divided,
some says play ASAP, unlock the goodies and cool stuffs first so u have more time to play around in act 3
some says no, its story spoiler, play after main story end

idk what to do, 1st playthrough btw

im still in tsushima ofc, stopped after the game says "speak to boatman", realizing this is a dlc (wish they mark it better, didnt know its an expansion)
still in act 2, still got few main quests left

Story spoilers don't happen unless you get to that point in the story

iki also gives the saddle bag doubling your ammo so id say work up to that plus the new horse armor and you can leave it till base game is finished
This plus the charm that doubles ammo pick ups (works on ghost weapons, too) is insanely overpowered. That, alone, is worth going to Iki.

Annoying how it prevents you from leaving Iki for quite some time until you've done several missions and the bloody audio bug.

Do NOT go to Iki until they fix the audio bug. It will follow you back to to Tsushima. Make the game unplayable.

This, it's what I'm doing.
The bug stayed on Iki, didn't follow me thankfully.

I did the DLC immediately, the spoilers are really light and aside from maybe one or two lines it could've easily been placed anywhere in the original game:samuraikick:

I have played DLC halfway and just before storming the castle in Act II.

I started Iki right away and at least one line of dialogue so far has been incorrect:
"Kotu Khan is dead" - eh when did that happen, this is news to me...

This is the only spoiler if you start DLC before completing main campaign.

I had assumed it was a bug, or is Iki canonically taking place after the main story?
Eh, I still have my first horse tho...

Wait, dev needs to fix audio
Eut May 31, 2024 @ 7:59pm
The audio bug is worse than just muting random sounds. It mutes dialogue as well, subtitles don't even show up

I think this is just him stating it to intimidate the Eagle. I believe he mentioned other backup are on their way to face the Mongol's, too, at that time iirc.

Idk if the rest of it takes place after the story or not though since I did the entire island exploration stuff and am only now continuing the main missions for the DLC>

The vision Yuna asked Jin when the other samurai would arrive - but this was really the Eagle interrogating Jin and getting info out of him in his drugged state. But Jin told the eagle that Kuto Khan was dead and that his mongols had already been driven from Tsushima - BEFORE being drugged.

- Guess I was miss-remembering

I'd wait to play Iki, I did it near end of Act 2 and it probably would have been better to wait. The audio bug while it didn't ruin the game, definitely made it less enjoyable.

Just my opinion, but Iki Island's story makes more sense after completing the main story. Everything just flows a lot better that way. I mean, if I was Jin, I wouldn't leave my home island knowing there's still an immediate threat in the form of Khotun Khan. I'd deal with the problems in my own backyard first, before dealing with another.

Of course, it's all entirely up to you.

For people who think it is spoilers, they completely missed the point of the dialogue. That was a full-on bluff.

He goes "Koten Khan is dead, tomorrow a thousand samurai will land on the shore of Iki!" and when Hallucination Yuna asks when they arrive, he only mentions not telling Lord Shimura, because the main-land Samurai have yet to arrive.

He was very, very clearly, trying to freak the Eagle out, and it also worked, given she asked the question at all, she got tricked untill he gave up the goose.

But,, it is technically phrased in a way that COULD mean there were actually samurai, because they did not want to record another version of that line for if you came back later.
