Not really, they are 3rd person open-world games. Setting is different but the genre is pretty much the same, Witcher 3 is more of a RPG where you can actually have different builds but that's about it.
The quality of writing tho is way inferior in this game in my opinion. That is still a nice game but it is carried by setting and combat, not by writing.
The combat mechanics and the story for GOT are more captivating for me than what Witcher 3 was, and I love the story line of the Witcher, read the books, played the games and watched the series.
GOT is a master work of detail that tells a somewhat realistic story in Japanese history about real events. And it feels like you are running around in a true invaded land. The combat mechanics in GOT way superior with more depth than Witcher really. We all have opinions...
