Lethal difficulty should be called "BS difficulty"
I'll start saying that i beat the game in lethal difficulty back in 2020 when the game came out, but i sure as hell did not remembered how unfair this difficulty is.

Its supposed to be "realistic" by stating that a hit with a blade is "lethal" indeed, however... this only applies to Jin, even the most weak generic soldier takes at least 2 hits to be killed, not to mention the armored soldiers, which some of them might take up to 5 or 4, sometines the shield guys take 6. I understand that a heavy armor might withstand a hit with a blade, but this is ridiculous considering the fact that you can also wear a heavy armor set and still get one shot, the duels are definitely the worst aspect, it is infuriating the fact that making a single mistake will restart everything, but the opponent are damage sponges.

I love the game but hopefully a mod can fix this, and give us a " fair lethal mode" in which you and the enemies get one shot.

lethal mode is deadly for a reason as others already stated and tons of damage resistant charms and clothing Armour to negate said damage. depending on your katana lvl its fairly balanced in the beginning. the only instance where trouble starts is the shaman dlc enemies that buff damage and resistance to other regular enemies where it takes you 7 hits to even kill them. outside of iki the game is a breeze and has somewhat skill to survive the blue and white enemies.
I already beat the game in lethal mode, I think it's fun, my Jin can one shot those with light armor, brutes required several hits but nothing too difficult with the help of ghost weapons. Sure, lethal for both sides makes sense, but imagine if you one or two shots every enemy, that sounds super boring to me.

Health and damage resistence is meaningless on Lethal. Its better to put it in resolve regen and damage.
I never played this game before as I have no consoles, so this is my first run and I'm on lethal diffuculty, still in Act 1. Ronin armor + most upgrades on the sword and I find it pretty alright - most guys, be them some bandits in rags or well armored Mongols die fast, though the well armored Mongols are way faster in terms of movements and combos and throw unblockables more frequently, thus they're trickier to kill. However, I'm getting better at it. Can't really complain.

This was basically my entire playthrough as I don't have any console either, and ronin armor was my go to in Act 1, once I got more charms, and different builds I was constantly switching just between 2 armors that you will be able to unlock in Act 2. And once you get better with parry and dodge, lethal difficulty will be a laughing stock but really fun aswell.
