Gave up trying to figure out their insanely tiny dodge windows, especially when they're spinning their glaive or about to smack it into the ground.
Pretty much my most hated enemy type, followed by Axe Brutes ^^
In terms of Axe Brutes, stance 4 heavy attack is pretty reliable. 3 hits to stagger, then spam light attacks to finish them off. Don't be scared to heavy attack them when the red light is on, you basically cancel it so they don't get to use it.
Many options unless you really want to practice the timing.
I mean I sometimes do engage some of those enemy types in melee but as I´m on lethal even regular spear dudes will get me sometimes if I am a bit off on the timing or fumble the inputs so the brutes will one hit kill me so in general I just don´t engage with their red stuff unless I am willing to risk dying (as you mentioned there´s some rubberband bs tracking going on where enemies will just zoom across the screen )
The thing is you have so many tools that you can easily choose if you want to "dance" or not.
Can always keep a couple of smoke bombs as a back up for annoying enemies, pop that and assassinate them.
I tried the big charm for increased dodge/parry windows alongside the Iki armor for increased dodge/parry windows, but neither of them does a thing against the polearm spammers. Just how tiny is that window if a double boost doesn't do a thing.
I'm not talking about the main island enemies which yes, are perfectly dodgeable. it's the Iki kind that has a different move set.
didn´t even know there was an armour that increased dodge window. Must have missed..
