Fixing the HDR
Hi , I'm using a display that only supports HDR10 with peak brightness of 450 , Yes I know it's just a scam from the brands and just a fake HDR label so I have to turn off the HDR entirely if a videogame doesn't give me the option for the HDR mode variations such as this game that only have on and off options
I've tried HDR off and game is just too damn dark with very high contrast , I've tried different brightness value's with and without the HDR , but It's just too bad that hurts to look at

Any recommended in game settings other than HDR and brightness ?
Any recommendation for a Reshade preset out there ?

Try dramatic mode and crank up the brighteness. It's the closest fix I've seen till they patch it. It's way too dark.

Hm, HDR looks great for me and the only parts where it is really dark are corners inside houses where there are no light sources nearby.

Did you properly calibrate your monitor using the Windows 11 calibration tool? That can make a huge difference no matter wether your monitor only supports 450 nits.

I'm sorry to tell you Lobster that they will never patch it. The same "issue" was present in the PS4 and PS5 versions. They see it as an artistic approach and it's as intended, but it really does make it nearly impossible to see details indoors or at night.

Use Reshade and try any of the HDR options.. Me using Magic HDR with a little less bloom. Looks awesome.

Don't bother with HDR unless your panel has FALD ( HDR600 or HDR1000), and make sure you run Windows HDR calibration.

lmao. Who ever gave me a clown hat has never seen proper HDR. Without dimming zones, what you're looking at is not real HDR, and "HDR10" is really meaningless.

Even though HDR should be setting your screens brightness to max? ok

I don't think that's how HDR works since even when you are enabling it You still have the option to adjust brightness

It's absolutely how it works.
First Google hit if you searched it up:
"To utilise the full potential Brightness should be at the maximum level (thus it is automatically enabled), though the user is free to adjust."
Here is a Reddit thread with a couple good answers regarding this:
