DualSense LED turning off when launching the game (solved)
I have my Dualsense Edge set to a certain color at all times, but when I launch GOT, it turns off for some reason. I don't know why, as no other game does this. Even when I look through the controller config for the game there doesn't seem to be an issue. The moment I ALT TAB, my LED immediately comes back on my controller.

Is there a reason this happens, or a way to turn the LED back on? It seems like it's connected to the game itself, rather than Steam. Thanks.

EDIT: Solution for me was disabling steam input for the game in your library. Right click it then go to properties then controller and disable steam input. Solved all of the problems for me.

Try right clicking GOT in your steam library then disabling steam input. That solved it for me. Someone said to do this in another thread I made. It also enabled tons of vibrations that I wasn't having before.

Interesting. Well it had the reverse effect for me. Just to clarify you're doing it for GOT only right?

It works like it should, in legends it change the color depends on what you do, don't want to spoil and maybe there is a way to change the color in campaign, but I'm just starting act 2 so not sure.

Probably. I think the game specifically is designed to function with the DS5.

Not quite. When I fixed it, then it started working as it should, showing a deep red glow on the LED's and enabling vibrations that weren't existent before.

Don't know what you've fixed, vibrations works for me from the start and in legends it change color depending on the element I've picked.

Different case here then. Not sure why, but still for my situation disabling steam input for the game solved it. Before I had vibrations, but not for specific things like running and being on the horse.

That breaks Sony controllers over Bluetooth. I think they eventually figured this out with the Dualsense, but I know for a fact disabling Steam Input breaks the DS4 over BT; I had a conversation with Steam support about this and it's something with Sony not making proper Windows drivers for bluetooth.

And OP in your case, it sounds exactly like you do not have the light set in the in game profile. The reason you see it come back when you alt-tab is because it switches to your desktop profile instead of the in-game profile.

Both of my Dualsense are in a drawer because they have drift (I envy your Edge) so I can't test the LED thing but it sounds like either Steam screwed up the LED thingy again (not the first time since they changed the UI) or there's a setting you're missing somewhere. I used to keep my LED a dim Teal so I can confirm it can be set universally, but what you describe is definitely it changing with the profiles.

Well this post is about the DualSense, which is the DS5, the DS4 is DualShock, not DualSense. Sony seems to naively support the DS5 for their games here on Steam, or at least for for Ghost of Tsushima in this case. As for the profiles, that could be happening sure, but that wasn't the issue. It was just a symptom of the problem. The issue was that no RGB was on at all before I disabled steam input for Ghost of Tsushima. This has not broken anything with my bluetooth, or changed it at all. I also didn't realize that I was missing many vibrations which I didn't know existed beforehand until the "fix" as mentioned above. That fixed all of my issues for my DualSense. As far as I'm aware, you cannot set RGB based on games, nor profiles on Steam. So that couldn't have been why my RGB was non-existent when launching GOT, but not any other games.

The Edge is a great controller, but the battery life absolutely sucks. One downside of disabling steam input, it also disables your ability to use the extra buttons on it. So in my case it made it a little silly to be using an Edge for a game that can't fully take advantage of it. Oh well.

For best performance when using a dualsense5, when playing a game designed to support all of it's features make sure you have the latest firmware installed using the dualsense firmware updater, always use a usb cable and not wireless/bluetooth and disable steam controler input for the game in the steam game options.

Bluetooth works fine as long as you have a capable receiver.
